20 odd quid for the gauge and you can do it yourself. iirc 176 psi is a perfect result.

Mark. That sucks, hope you get it sorted.

cheers txt him .. speaking tomorrow ..

its one or two things ... or may be 3 who knows

after my track time i noticed a little condensation in the exhaust ...

and today starting it but this was on the drivers side ..

it may of blown the head gasket but oil smoke is on passenger

and it wouldn't surprise me if its cylinder 6

but more likely to be a blown/cracked piston

i love these Zeds .... i really fooking do :) haha

You need some luck bud. Perhaps Jimmer is the way to go. You know it'll be sorted and not need worrying about. He is the man for a re build. Fact!!

boooo thats shit mate :( whats happened to it? noisy or smoking?

edit: just seen your reply. Good job you like removing Zed engines :)

engine sounds sweet ... just miss firing and smoke ... lots of it

this is why it makes me think its piston and not gasket

what colour smoke? what was the AFR like when you did your dyno run?

  • Author

Smoke is blue ... and the Afr is all ways between 14>15

Thats about the norm. whats your mileage?? Ive said it before takeing a car on a track is a bad idea. proper car breakers :(

I know if i put mine on a track I would get in a proper race and push it till it blows up lol!!

ffs mark, thats crap news. i do have to admitt i was stood there last weekend thinking it was odd that you had condensation coming out the exhaust an hour after going out on track. mostly from the drivers side. i suppose what you have to bear in mind this that 16 psi on those tubs is alot more air than 196psi on stock tubs. i really hope its something silly not a majour problem? have you done compression/leakdown? jimmer will sort you out mate and its a good excuse to visit the south of england again lol. 3rd time in how many months now for you lol? best of luck.

3rd time ... lol try 4th haha ..

least i know how to take the engine out blind folded

  • Author

yep indeed ....

looks like i will be getting

block bored out a little 3.1lt ?

Forged pistons & new rings

comtec head gasket

Race bearings

Another daft question but what's the difference with cometic gaskets and oem ones? Teach me o' engine guru's for I wish to learn.......

  • Author

its full metal type ... where as normal head gaskets have metal rings but the rest is made from some sort of softer stuff ...
