well im still nor further as to what to do with mi zed, keep her or have 4 cars lol,

decided to buy the bmw 645 convertible, as mi gilrfriend really likes it as her second car, as it would cost to much to run for her 65 miles a day work trip,so she uses her little pug 107

cant get rid of mi volv0 xc90 as need it to pull our caravan, and ideal for throwing kids in and dog

so that leaves me with the zed and that isnt always practical, as well, but really like the bmw as it has full spec list m6 spec.... loads of extras , but in 2 minds what to do with mi zed......try keep her, sell her or break her

and that's without the brand new race spec engine sat in engine stand ready for fitment, not gonna recoup my money on engine , whats the engine worth,??

it spec list roughtly, weisico pistons/acl bearings/eagle rods/jwt 500 cams/brand new nissan tappets/new waterpump/oilpump/arp bolts allround/cometic h.gaskets/ported polished heads/ mike smith manifolds/jwt sports 650 turbos fully rebuilt with 360 thrusts/3inch divorced down pipes/ new variable valve timing pulleys/

and thats without all the ancilleries chromed/hoses/pulleys lightweigh alloy/etc

just dont know wether to fit engine and try it first or sell it new/ suppose am scared i will want to keep it after fitting it lol, dont know what to do any suggestions???

Personally if it was me mate I'd tell the girlfriend to wind her neck in and put the beemer on ebay tonight and then sell the caravan and buy a VW camper van with the intention of carrying out a VG conversion

or none of the above and just fit a detachable tow bar to the zed

don't sell the zed, that'll just make you really sad and grumpy

I think your engine is worth about £10 but as your a memeber ill give you £20 to help you out!

Personally i would keep the zed. do you have a garage? if so take the zed off the road and get the engine fitted and use the BMW while its off the road. Be a shame to give up on the zed after spending a lot of time and money on it.

biggest issue you have, although the engine waiting to go in is a stonker, most people havent got the cash at the present moment to go shelling out the kind of cash that engine really demands to purchase, so you are either going to have to strip it and sell it in bits and bobs, or fit it to your car and sell at a loss.

Personally id keep the zed, throw the new engine in, have fun with it for a while then decide.

zeds aint shifting either as a whole at the moment, whether that's due to the stupid high petrol prices (most likely), time of year (most likely) and the fact everyone is still feeling ripped off and skint (defiantly most likely), plus limited market for "modified zeds" so it really is a tough call.

I know its not much help, but apart from keeping the zed and hoping things improve across the country, you will most likely end up breaking the car and selling the engine (unless it takes awhile to shift)

As above zeds aint really selling and the engine may be worth more than alot of zeds around so therefore people couldnt justify spending that much. I would be the typoe of person to buy this engine however it isnt the right spec for me so you may find that with others too. Only way it may sell would be at a big loss to yourself and an offer too good to refuse for others just my thoughts. Look at Jaffaz32`s engine spec that no one wanted and that was 13k worth of parts at half price or something like that.

I think even a stock zed will beat that beamer, if it was an m6 then thats different but its not. At some point you will be sat there and some young scot will have you from the lights and ul be sat there saying if only I still had the zed. In my experience is better to finish a project then always wonder what if lifes too short. There is the final option of do both and put the zed on the back burner till you can afford to finish it

Yeah i would keep the zed. with the mods and the engine spec i would say in a few years it would be worth a small fortune :)

So it's either the BMW or the zed?

. Whatever happens, you will loose a lot of money on the zed. The BMW will depreciate at an incredible rate.

Verdict: sell the BMW

A BMW 645 as a second car? Uses a Pug 107 for the commute? With logic like that, I'd sell the girlfriend and buy a Lamborghini.

Having 4 cars is a huge, unnecessary expense. If you've got money to burn, then to hell with it and enjoy it. If you haven't, then you should really be asking yourself why you've just bought the Bimmer. Personally, I wouldn't be able to justify both the Bimmer and the Zed. I'd keep the 645 and sell the Zed and take the loss on the chin. Its a loose - loose situation whatever you do. The Bmw will depreciate, the Zed will always swallow bundles of cash. Why not buy the missus an Elise instead? It's tea-total compared to the Bavarian beer monster - she could even use it for the commute.. and you could drive it to the car wash and back every Sunday morning (that one which is 100 miles away, you know which one I mean) and sell the Zed. Win - win!

Only took a year to decide so ripped engine out and spent another grand finishing off bits and bobs to put engine in

So will see what it's like might as well try it I've saved long enough collecting all parts for engine and like you guys said never gonna recoup even half so sod it its my toy and will see how it performs ??
