Did you not read the original question? :lol:or is it me just being old?:wheelchair: I cant access the link cos I'm only a lowly registered user:whistling:

Surely the number is useless without actually being subbed.

That is a very god point if you are using your number as part of an insurance policy

I know for a fact that an insurance company when dealing with a claim contacted the Z Club about a members current status when dealing with a claim

Inferring that if the membership had elapsed that the policy was no longer valid

I joined the Z Club way before I had internet access 2001/2002 ish my membership # is 801, even though my status is "website member" does the fact that I'm not subscribed mean that I'm concidered a true member?

As I see it you are a long time member of the club Steve, what type of membership should not matter.

Thank you

Sorry to be a pain on this but would hate to see someone try and make a claim and then find part of their policy is invalid

As insurance companies will use any excuss to stop paying out full amount of claim

The following Extract from the clubs Consitution needs claification

MEMBERSHIP

4)The Association shall be formed of individuals who shall be either Full, Honorary or Subscribed Trader members. Members under the age of 17 may not be eligible for participation in activities that the Committee shall deem inappropriate.

a)Full membership is available to individuals who pay the current annual subscription fee that is pre-determined by the Committee and ratified at the AGM. Full Members shall be entitled to vote at any General, Special or Annual General Meetings.

b) Honorary membership may be conferred on persons who, in the opinion of the Committee, have rendered services to the Association but so that honorary members at any one time shall not exceed ten. An Honorary member is not entitled to vote at any General, Special or Annual General Meetings.

c)Subscribed Trader membership is available to commercial traders who wish to trade products and services on the Club Forum website. An annual subscription fee is payable, pre-determined by the Committee and ratified at the AGM. A subscribed trader is not entitled to vote at any General, Special or Annual General Meetings.

d)The Committee reserves the right to refuse applications for membership of the Association from individuals or traders who are considered inappropriate to the Club’s well-being and integrity.

5)The full name and address of every candidate for Full membership shall be submitted in writing to the Membership Secretary upon a form which shall be prescribed from time to time by the Committee for this purpose. Upon payment of the annual subscription fee the candidate shall become a Full member.

a)Upon recommendation by the Committee, an honorary member may be elected at any General Meeting of the Association for any such period as the General Meeting deem expedient. A two thirds majority of members present and voting shall be necessary to ensure election.

6)Any member or trader whose membership has been revoked or who owes money to the Association may be excluded from any of the Association’s activities at the discretion of the Committee members present at such activity.

7)Members are required to abide by the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) for the Association’s website forum as laid down by the Committee.

SUBSCRIPTIONS

8)All Full members and Subscribed Traders shall pay such subscription as the Committee shall from time to time determine. Such subscription rates to be ratified at the AGM.

Also in the Membership number & login name list it states

Note: These are not necessarily current subscribers, but all the login names that have ever been subscribed.

Current subscribers are shown here

Although all can see the name list I believe only admins can see here

May be I am wrong but as I understand from all of the above is that when a member pays his yearly subscription he is then allocated a membership number for the duration that his subscription lasts then if he renews subs his membership number and full membership is still valid

and by the inference that there is a current subscribers list and the list on show is not the actual list of current subscribers it would throw in doubt to the insurce company the vadility of a number if the subscribed membership was not current

I know for a fact on my Livingstones Warman* Llimited* Mileage & Club Mmembership Declaration form has a section on it asking me

Please complete if claiming membership discount

I confirm I am* a member of the ____________________ Club

Membership Number _________________

User/Forum Login Name ____________________

Not having a go at any one As I say IMHO the above needs clarification as would hate for some one to loose what could be a hell of a lot money

As Steve Burns has said Steve you need to say you are a registered member of the club to keep yourself right mate and the membership number was given when you were subed. If the insurance company only accepts subscribed members for discount then you know what to do.

Thanks to Steve B for keeping us all right:thumbup1:

Just a quick question about it that I hadn't considered.

The members list has me down with my old user name, would this cause a problem for me with the insurance?

Maybe a question for your Insurance Company mate let them know and find out what they think and any problems get back to us and I will see what we can do to help.
