Just got my new alarm delivered (TOAD Ai606) but now I don't know whether I should Install it myself or get a authorised dealer to do it?

I am capable of installing it but will this invalidate the Thatcham approval with Insurance companies?

What have you lot done with your TOADs?

you can install it your self. but you will need a aproved fitter to check it over to get you certificate. about £50 last time i had it done

where are the best places to use I have a TOAD but no cert

Mate - I would just look up any local car alarm specialist. Give one or two a call and see if they can do it for you....

Steams did you find anyone local to do you cert I need mine looked at and can't find anyone

Haven't really looked yet mate. But I did do a very quick search on their website and couldn't find any TOAD dealers in Huntingdon, Peterboro' or Cambridge :(

lucas or any auto electrical place should be able to do it, if not google is your friend lol

a local in-car entertainment place inspected my alarm and provided a certificate. I think it was about £35, but this was about 4 years ago.

I think it just needs to be an alarm supplier who can supply a certificate to verify that a cat 1 alarm is fitted and operates as it should.
