Today we said a hard good bye to one of our best friends “Libby “and family member for 12 years.

To the many, many hundreds of customers who have been welcomed by her when arriving at Zedworld will know what a cool dog she was.

I understand that non dog/pet owners may consider the passing of a pet as less than important but to those who do and have lost mans best friend will understand how we all feel. and degree of loss.

Libby has not been well for the past 5 months having undergone major surgery to remove her spleen she had rallied back to almost full health again, until a few weeks ago she again fell ill, the vets gave us every indication they could give her some more pain free life albeit of unknown length.

Yesterday was a bizarre day with wall to wall sunshine, she spent the day running and chasing the ball barking and playing with our lab “Cassie” who Libby treated as her own puppy for the last 7 years, she really seemed invigorated and full of life even posing for a mass of pictures we took two of which are below.

After returning from an evening out at a restaurant with family (22 of us!!) we came back to a very different and clearly poorly Libby, what followed was a very long night spent on the floor with her until at 6:40 am she took her final breath and passed on, the whole family was awoken and joined us down stairs to say bye to her, truly devastating for us all from the youngest members at 14 to the oldie`s late 50s.

We will never forget our Libby and hope all of our customers who have enjoyed her company whilst waiting for their zed will agree she was super friend to us all.

Run Libby our friend and be free

Jeff, Lynda , Jamie and Cassie

That is such sad news Gutted for you She was irreplaceable I know. Just hope she's as happy in the big doggy heaven as she was whenever any of us arrived and she came to welcome us. I bet your other is missing her as well.

Sorry to hear about the passing Jeff, Lynda, Jamie and Cassie.

Its hard when you lose a loved pet(member of the family) our thoughts are with you as we lost 2 dogs last year was not easy for my wife and kids either.

Best wishes to you all.

Aww sorry to hear that mate she was one of the most placid friendly dogs I've had the pleasure to meet, one of the only dogs I've ever felt completely comfortable around from the first 10 seconds of saying hello, a true testament to you guys I'm sure she'll be sorely missed. R.I.P

Really sorry to hear this Jeff. I lost my Chinchilla Persian cat Tom at the beginning of last year in similar circumstances. Got home from a good night out to find him very ill. Took him straight to the vets at 3.00am and sadly he died a couple of days later. I still miss him but am so glad he was part of my life.

It cuts very deep when you loose a family pet :(

That's very sad and upsetting to hear guys. My family has been a massive pet family and I know how hard it is when one passes on. Thoughts are with you :crying:

RIP.

Both dogs were great when i brought my little girl in last year. Such a shame when they go.

so so sorry to hear of the loss of Libby Jeff, you and the family must be gutted we are both dog lovers so also feel your grief

RIP Libby

kindest regards

Steve and Niki

I spent some time with Libby at the ZedWorld bash last year, she was a beatiful dog :D

I have tears in my eyes now, it's funny isn't it, I've been around dogs my entire life, I've seen my own dogs die, friends dogs, families dogs, yet it never gets any easier. One of our tom cats turned up dead at our back door about a year ago and I near as damn it had a full on break down. lol

RIP Libby and my condolences to you and your entire family Jeff.

very sorry to hear that my daugther jade said she was glad she and the other was there when we dropped my zed of, as we spent so long there she had dogs to play with.

Very sad and upsetting new Jeff, always very sad when a member of the family dies... At least you know she is at piece now and will never be forgotton. I still miss my dog who fell asleep 5 years ago now. Always remember taking her out in the Z down to the beach!! She loved that! Just think of all the good and happy memories you and Libby had... RIP Libby

oh no  so sorry to hear about your loss. I've had to experience the loss of many pets over the decades that our family has owned them and it never gets any easier to get through. Libby strolled over to welcome me many a time at Zedworld. RIP Libby. :(

I've never owned a dog but reading this made me really sad  Thoughts are with you guys.

Huge thanks to all of the comments and supportive words, its been so nice to see how many of you know Libby and understand our feelings of loss.

We are actually on a family holiday in Scotland ( no snow here?) and the all of our family and closest friends are here too, the family support programme has well and truely kicked in, with an extra special thanks to our dear friends Lisa and Si.

We took Libby to a local vet yesterday and they were brilliant with us showing clear compassion but also getting the job in hand done, on our return Si and Lisa had been to a local photo studio and had a picture of libby printed and framed! was a super gift from super friends who know us well.

Libby is to be reunited with us late next week where we will place her remains in a corner of the garden so we can feel close to her, Cassie our lab is a bit lost and getting tons of extra fuss at the moment but she will adapt much the same as we will in time I guess.

So thank you all for the comments and any more that may get added it really does help.

Really sorry for your families loss. I know the hardship of losing a dog, they're more than just part of your family, they're your best friend with unconditional love every single day no matter what mood you're in.

All we can do as an owner is give them the best life possible and it sounds like you did that.
