i asume that drivers that buy the two day will move there cars sat evening and drive back on the spot sunday ... ?

reason is, if you buy a day ticket and drive in, its pretty much impossible to go around everyone's stand to get the cars removed and hard to police, you will get people paying £10 for the day, parking their car on the stand and just staying for the whole weekend.

Those going sat to sun will be buying a weekend pass at either £30 on the gate or £25 for the weekend, there is only 2 types of ticket available Single day, or whole weekend, the different prices reflect Advanced ticket sale, on the gate or single day. the weekend pass (regardless of if paid 25 or 30) will allow them to park on the stand.

Hope that helps.

ok i under stand that .. but as the gate opens up early in the morning before public and say i wanted to come on the Sunday ... i carnt stay for the full event seems its the last day

and drivers who are on the stand have to drive the there car to the stand in the morning anyways .. whats the diffrents ?

ppl showing there cars will have a Stand pass

not just a jo-blog person buying a ticket wanting to park closer

just carnt see why it would be such a problem as any other 2>3 day shows i have been to

been no probs

Oh well looks like i will have to miss this one out due to work ..

when you get there, if you are paying for the weekend, you do not have to park your car in the carpark at night, you leave it on the stand where you want to park it as long as its on our plot. you then go set your tent up and off you go, when you get your ticket you have a wrist band that you put on, that lets you drive out to go places like tescos or McDonalds and drive back in with the arm band on your arm, as long as you have a jap vehicle you can enter JAE at the main gate and park on the stand all weekend If you pay for a full weekend pass.

If you have a £10 day ticket, you are only allowed to enter between 8am and you have to leave by 10pm, you can not park your car on the stand and have to leave it in the secure carpark and walk in, they have over 2 to 4k cars go to JAE, and having to go around at night to make sure people who only paid for a day pass leave on time would be a logistical nightmare and people would kick up a stink if they had paid £25 / £30 and someone paid £10 and snuck in, if you are only turning up for Sunday, im sure they will let you drive in and park on the stand as they close at 4pm and all the JAE events are held on the Saturday so its not like you will be gaining an advantage.

Unfortunately Mark, that is down to the organisers of JAE and not the club; I think Voddy has explained this in a bit more detail above mate.....

.....but I guess it doesn't really matter if you're working that weekend; as you're not free to attend anyway.

Richard:oops:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

as i said they might of let you if you turned up on the sunday, they are not completely draconian, had you turned up on the saturday then yes you would have to park in the car park and leave by 10, but turning up on the sunday when most people are leaving, i cant see why they would have a problem considering everyone has to be packed and gone by 4pm.

wont know until the plots have been handed out to the peeps who didnt get the forms in on time matey.

We could pass them off as zeds? Just park them round the back a bit

Quick update, we have the same plot as we did last year, which is on the entrance straight as you come into JAE, im currently waiting on the information pack to be sent through with all the details, but for now going from my notes that i took while at the rep meet.

- Show N shine is now moved to Friday instead of Saturday, Show N shine hopefuls can bring there cars in on the Thursday to get set up and start getting preped.

- Tunnel run is now being incorporated into the Show, with the event taking place in London, people will be leaving for the tunnel run from 12am Friday night / Saturday morning. doing the tunnel run and coming back. this is to give people more of a chance to do the tunnel run.

Cars that turn up on the Sunday (as long as they are jap) will be able to be placed on the stand.

more details once i get the rep pack. but these are the important ones.

Not happy that Show And Shine has been moved to Friday instead of Saterday,,,,, MOST PEOPLE WORK ON FRIDAY, Why has this been changed ?

I must say I think it's a bad idea to move the show and shine from the Saturday to the Friday. I would say it will disappoint a lot of people who have invested a lot of time and money in their cars to make them nice enugh for the show and shine only to find they are working on the Friday and unable to enter their cars, or who have a long distance to travel on the Friday and would not arrive in time. It seems a bit of a shame to me, not only for the members of our club, but for other members of different clubs who can only attend Saturday and Sunday IMHO. How come the organisers of JAE changed the show and shine is there a valid reason for the change? Can Jason and the Beast manage to get to the show early enough on the Frday to enter? No offence meant to anybody, just my thoughts on the change.

I too totally aggree with you Ian,

I have spent a small fortune on my Zed lately to get it to show standards and to be entered into SHOW AND SHINE, then i read this crap saying NO GO SATURDAY,

I and others I am sure will not be pleased and i think alot of people will pull out of going to JAE this year and refraining from this club if things do not get any better

Thanks

Chris.

As one of the guys who started JAE in the first place I must admit I find it a bit strange

Although I have noyt been to JAE for a years now I am going to post up my comments on the JAE facebook page asking the question

maybe would be an idea for others to do the same

if enough people post their views they should then thing about changing it

Here you go guys copy of what I have posted on face book

JAE show and shine OOPs

Although I have not been to JAE for a few years I have read that the show and shine has been moved to the Friday instead of being on the Saturday

Being on the Saturday always gave the guy in the street the opportunity to drive his daily driver to the show late on the Friday night spend a decent amount of time detailing his car so it could be entered in the show and shine and stand a chance of winning a prize

Come on now John and The Organisation reconsider this and move it back to the Saturday and give the little guys who have to work on the Friday at least a chance of competing with the bigger fish

You know it makes sense all in IMHO of course

Ian was it discussed at the reps meet and if so did not the reps voice their concern on behalf of the clubs

I agree, show and shine on a Friday is a stupid idea and we should let the organisers know that it does not suit a lot of our members some of which travel long distances and need time to prepare there cars. So let them know guys.

to be honest no one raised concerns over it and everyone was quite happy about it, john said they have given plenty of warning about this so people can book the necessary days off.

It was moved so those who enter show and shine (from feed back from the entrants) can then enjoy the events on the Saturday, with show and shine taking up most of the day they don't get to enjoy what is on offer. i have already PM'ed Jason to give him plenty of notice about it so the beast can get there on the Thursday to start prepping for the show. it also got moved so those in the show an shine wishing to do the tunnel run can do so.

I supose thats the plus side of having it on a Friday mate and can see where they are comming from but it wont suit everbody but then you never can lol

I would still like it on a Saturday but there you are change happens.

Well IMHO that is a load of rubbish

Why do the people who enter the show and shine not enjoy what else is happening As once the car is parked in the show and shine area you do not have to stand next to it all day and as for moving it so people who are taking part in the S&S can go on the tunnel run I nave never heard any thing so stupid in all my lIfe

Sorry but Look at the response already from people on here who have posted so far

If John has given plenty of notice of the change it should have been posted on here so that members could have given their views so you could have raised the issue at the reps meeting

will never please everyone, its either a few people cant enter as they cant make it for friday, even though S&S will be run until night fall on the Friday, so should give plenty of time for the majority of people to enter, or everyone in show and shine cant enter any of the events on the Saturday. so a few will lose out over everyone loosing out from show n shine. i can see why they changed it to how they did. makes more sense even if some people may loose out due to the change.

Not sure why you are getting so animated about it, it is currently march, JAE isnt until September, i think that's plenty of time. John has said in the reps meet that he has spoken closely with those who enter show and shine and the consensus was to move it to the Friday, not everyone wants to leave their pride and joy unlocked and walk away from it and i too can understand that reasoning, if those who enter show and shine want it moved so they can then concentrate on doing the fun things on Saturday with out having to worry about the safety of there cars, can you blame them?

What ever is decided on show and shine lets not get distracted from the main event that is zed owners getting together for a great meet:thumbup: I dont see any of you lot all year and this is my only chance to get over to the UK so dont worry to much about the details just get your ass there:tt2:

A detail reply From John Fuggles on facebook for the reasons behind the S&S move to the Friday

John Fuggles

JAE is a three day event not just one day. We've moved things like the Tunnel Run to Friday night to allow more people, from outside the South East, to take part and will be adding a lot more content to the Sunday.

The Show n Shine move to Friday has been discussed between the sponsors and ourselves and the idea was presented to the Club Reps at the recent meeting. Overall the Reps agreed as it made their task easier by not having the Football, IKO, SnS and club business to attend all on one day. So, nothing was done without consultation first.

The presentation for the winners previosuly has taken place on the Saturday evening which means the awards are handed out without the cars present. In addition, the winning cars are never seen by all those visiting the show and there is very little chance for the winners to showcase their cars. Moving it to Friday allows the cars to go on show all day Saturday and for the awards to take place late afternoon, before dark and with the cars. In addition those visiting JAE will be able to vote on the best car(s) overall.

The judging takes place all day Friday which allows people to enter all day. Accepted some people may need to take an afternoon off work but not everyone works M-F anyway and a lot of people take a lot more time than that off to run their club stands. If a half day's leave is a price to pay for a couple of people then the benefits to the majority of those participating, the winners and those who want to see the winning cars as well as the awards being handed out by the cars is a far more significant gain.

JAE is a three day event and has been now for the last half a dozen years, it's not a Saturday only event

Well said Steve, I for one agree. I really do think that this should have been discussed between each club that attend and feedback collected on the outcome of those discussions. It's ok saying that people can just take a day or half a day off work, but people can't always pick and choose when they take time off, or have already booked their annual leave entitlement. I was always allocated my annual leave and had no say as to when it was, I am sure there will be others in the same boat.

Who has John spoken to that enters show and shine? How do they know who is going to enter it at this early stage? There must be new entrants each year, or is this a case of not what you know but who you know? I really do think it's a shame that people have spent a lot of time, money and effort on their cars in order to enter show and shine, only to find that they cannot enter because they either can't take the time away from work, or have a long journey and won't make it in time. As I have stated, no offence to anyone, just my views, and some other peoples views looking at the feedback just on here at the moment.

Accepted some people may need to take an afternoon off work but not everyone works M-F anyway

So true. I agree 100% with what he said on Facebook. Its a 3 day event so i'm sure it wont hurt you M-F lot to book one day off instead of the the 2-3 days off I have to book to go there!

Don't be do damn selfish!

Its a light hearted discussion to talk about issues no need to get personal or throw abuse. Try to lighten up a bit mate.
