been looking at these spacers they are not the full hub centric ones rather ones with a bore size and longer studs which is obvioulsy better than the simple slid eon type but not full on hibcentric. i prefer this idea for the pure reason that the actual bolts that are holding your wheels to the hub are easily inpected. no removing the wheel to check.

my only reservation is the strength of the stud itself supplied with this kit. opinions please guys? should i use a differmt set of studs? the 15mm on these is a perfect size for me.

link? will they fit at only 15mm? or will the studs hang out and foul on the wheel mounting face?

15mm on mine foul the wheel. I'm either getting the nuts machined down or modify some 5mm spacers to pack it out.

Its a contact of mine ive used before and just got another set off him. The 15mm ones didnt foul on my Gartmaier rims but i guess all are different. Ill PM you the guys email if your interested and i have a pic of the ones i had if you wanna see.

Avoid. I had some like this on a car and both wheels came off at the same time.

The amount of stress on the inner edge of the bolts are huge. I got about 5 miles untill all 5 bolts failed :(

As martin said get the propper ones :)

Shurley the studs would need to go through the wheels so you can get the nuts on them.

he means the studs on the hub fouling the back of the rim due to 15mm not taking up the full length of the stud :)

This is the ones i have

There are tapered nuts that sit in the recessed part of the spacer, on a 15mm spacer the nuts sit proud about 5mm and these foul on some makes of wheels

if you get ones like these 10>20mm you need to make sure u have a recess on the back of the wheel to give clearance for the nuts, studs as they will protrude the extended hub

most after market wheels will have this

I think my wheels have the stud recesses. Its quite difficult to find hubcentrics under 20mm. But yeah pm me marty, they top notch?

Sorry guys I have finally got it through my thick head and now understand the problem with the nuts fouling the back ot the alloys when they sit proud of the spacers.

But looking at your's Gonzo they have a round lip around the center mine dont would this be a problem for me?

Phew thats good thanks Gonzo and sorry for hijacking your thread Z32bolt

gaz you should always use hubcentrics . the centre rim is what should be supporting the weight of your car ,not the studs . the studs are there basically to hold your wheels on . ive seen quite a few studs fail like this .

Them studs shown will only fit the fronts the rears have smaller splines as well .

Thats what I was worried about Andy, looks like I will need to change them then. Thanks mate.

Garry, i've seen a million threads about the spacers like yours (particularly on driftworks) and its always a split decision but majority saying they should be avoided.

Some folk say they are fine as long as you torque them up in the right order but others (usually the majority) say the same as Andy about the lip taking the weight of the wheel so I've always avoided them...but based purely on what I've read others say.

They used to be on my black zed which I had for two years they were on it when imported from Japan so have stood the test of time but I would hate to hit the brakes hard and something fail!
