idle

once warmed up she runs spot on . but intermittently on start up the idle seems to hunt . it floats up to2000 then drops to 1000 rpm then repeats a couple of times then settles. what causes this? cheers

    Have a search on the ICV or Idle control Valve. It's at the back of the engine pass side and is probably needing a clean.

    Sorry to do a little hijack, but mine idles fine at about 900 but when I put it in gear it goes to about 1100. Is this normal?!

    so yours is an auto ? as so as far as I know that is what they do.... not sure if the rpms are right but it will increase.

     

    it might need a service / tune... TPS, timing and then idle adjustment ...
