i assume its becuse theres un mtetered air getting in to the engine by that side

is there such thing as a Dummy Maf where it gets connected up to the other so it works ?

U need either,

a Selin duel MAF translator

or,

if u have a standalone ECU, u need a MAP sensor to replace the existing MAF sensor

  • Author

ok how does that work .. the Map sensor ..

have just seen the selin maf translator @ $275 ...

You need something like AEM ecu that uses a MAP sensor instead of the MAF sensor which is what i was going to run with it. Failing that you need the dual MAF translator if your running standard ecu if you are having problems.

Yup. Not as straight forward as throwing an extra induction kit on.

Are you running big power?

  • Author

well depends on what u call big power .. hopefully around 400>450ish plus i just liked the idea of having the filters down each side

could of told me this before .. lol

I wasnt sure what you were running however i didnt plan to have any issues as im running AEM so no need for a MAF. Plus im pretty sure ive heard of people running the doolz on 1 MAF and not had problems. There is an AEM ecu on ebay at the moment

I have a HKS Vein Pressure Convertor to replace my MAF.

Gonzo are you running an intake temp sensor alongside that MAP sensor on the AEM unit?

Cool, can you let us know when you have a finalised plan? I have an AEM ECU myself and am interested in the options :cool2:

+1 to that.

Any info would be helpful. My engine should b dropped in this week

If you email the guy yourself he will be able to advise and suggest in regards to your own spec as all of ours will be different and what i require to optimun run will be different to both yours. With all the other electronic gizzmos i have i dont require some of the sensors plus running live mapping which will make it alot easier to manage.

Mate you in no way need dual maff for your set up,550 ish is usually when thats needed. If and only if you get stuck a Q45 maf conversion would get you by,im pushing nigh on 500flywheel horsepower on a stock maf set up with no probs whatsoever.

i wasnt on planning on running dual Maf .. its just it wont run with One like they say it will

the center section of the pipe is joined/open to each other so when its got both filters on its getting un metered air

and this is giving it a problem
