Do you know whats in your ECU?/R U insured!?

Hi All,

Swapped my chip last night (thanks ChrisC). I had no noticeable gain in BHP/torque which leads me to believe I was already running an upgraded chip. S'pose sub 5 secong 0-60's should have given it away ;-)

The first thing that struck me was that I have been effectively uninsured for the last six months - if the f*ckers can get out of a claim on a technicality they will so my advice is make sure you know what's in your magic box!! We get ripped off for insurance anyway without giving them money for nothing....

My 1/4P's worth

imho, unless the new chip is very aggresivley tuned to run much leaner than the one you took out, and if you have made no other mods at the same time, then you wont notice any difference anyway...

you need to do something else to increase power, and the upgraded chip should then compensate with better fuel maps..

have you fitted a boost controller or boost jets to change the boost ?

Jeez Craig - 101 thousand posts!?!!? You've been busy mate!!

I've fitted an AVC-R :-) and realised yesterday that pushing the boost up a bit makes for 'interesting' driving. I didn't change any settings at first, just used the settings as they were for the previous chip, the AVC-R was still in self learn mode.

Cheers,

heh... yeah, just take about 100,000 off that and my real count will be left...

gives all the other people trying for high counts something to aim for wink.gif

be a bit careful with the avcr, as its very easy to overboost with it frown.gif

i am sure mine could be setup a bit better, but after a while i got fed up with trying to control the boost AND get decent spool up...
