Hi all need some advise on fitting my 99spec front as my front mount intercooler hits the bumper first how have over people done there's if they have at all

Just have to trim your bumper till it does fit. No other way im affaid.

Is it the plastic directional bits that's on the inter coolers ?

 

Mines just cut at an angle to fit, no need to cut the actual number.

Even if it is polyurethane one

Mines a real 99 spec and only the plastic direction bits on the inter coolers themselves are cut down.

He is fitting a FMIC Lee. not SMIC if thats what your on about??

Here's the front of mine and you can see the inter cooler vents have been shaved down !

unfortantly mine has the front mount so i am nackerd on that one i am now trying to upload a phot some how to may be show you the problem if there is no fix then the bumper will have to go up for sale annoyingly

Looks like you need to cut the top edge of the opening to allow for the angle of the fmic. nice and easy to do with a new stanley blade and a nice straight edge to cut along :)

will that look ok as i wanted to keep the grill in plus if i mess it up its then worthless

You can still keep the grill/ mesh it will just be moved forward. but you can get new plastic coated mesh of ebay for about £15.

I,ve just scanned this for you , i,ve got the same FMIC and these are the fitting instructions that came with mine , might not be very clear but the first pic shows how much to trim off the bottom section of the apature and the second is the splash shield that,s under the bumper , HTH bud .
