Important news regarding this years show and shine.

Entry to this year's Show n Shine competition will be on FRIDAY 7 SEPTEMBER. This is to allow the winners cars to go on show for the Saturday and for all the winners to be seen by everyone attending JAE. The winners enclosure will be in a key central location and all the cars will be fenced off so those attending JAE can look but not touch.

Prize giving for the JAE Show n Shine winners will take place on Saturday afternoon, in front of the winning cars and, for the first time in JAE history, the winners will be seen with their cars at the awards ceremony. Entry into the competition demands that your car is available from 10am on Saturday until 5pm the same day and is only display in the winners enclosure.

Judging for the Show n Shine competition will take place all day Friday. Just pitch up at the Kleers judging area and our friends from Kleers will do the rest. You will need to fill in a form and register. if you do so long enough before the event our friends at Kleers may even send you a goody bag before the event! Forms should be sent to the address on the bottom of the form

If you want time to prep your car you can bring the vehicle in from 5pm on Thursday 6 September. To do this we MUST have your form in to us before 1 September, only then can we let your details go to our security and they can let you in early.

There are awards for every make of Japanese car so plenty of chance to win GOOD LUCK!

And last but not least, all the info plus forms regarding the events is available from the main website.

Are you interested in maybes?

I'm 95% sure my car will be finished in time, but if all is well i'll be taking it to Monza for the GP.

If that falls through, count me in (+1)

Missed me out of the earlier list.....!!!

I'm in guys. I'll be bringing my mate and his 2 boys.... and I am excited... I think that this year we could really push the boat out and make it a show to remember.

Ian, I'm sure you have taken it all on board, but I'll say it anyway.... there was some really good constructive feedback on last years event, and some very generous offers of help etc, I was just wondering if you had collated all the stuff people spoke about on those threads and started contacting said members who kindly offered stuff to make the event an even greater success?

For example, I will bring a projector and laptop with loads of downloaded retro cartoons and maybe some DVDs (car related i might add... Taxi, Italian job, gone in 60 secs, Bullet, fast and furious etc) so that there can be a corner of the tent geared towards entertainment... I'll bring some speakers and a couple of ipods so that we can have some tunes too. I was thinking of bringing some silly quizes, table games (jenga etc) cards (late night poker perhaps..) etc, etc, just to try and make the main tent a bit more of a social space... we have that amazing massive tent, great members and i think we need to maximise this.

Likewise I am sure that other members like IanL offered to bring stuff like lighting rigs, or sound systems, Andy Isherward offered to help out with the food and cooking as he's a dab hand in the kitchen, are just a few of those who offered help... but they would probably need: 1, reminding of their generous offers, and 2, time to sort it all out.

Like i said, I'm sure your already on it, and i have every faith that this will get better and getter every year, but with 6 or 7 months to go, I think that gives us more than enough time to really raise the bar this time round. With that all said, I am properly looking forward to a weekends fun and games.

I just live 8 mile down the road so i will be there on either saturday or sunday, but i will pay at the gate

Quick update, we have the same plot as we did last year, which is on the entrance straight as you come into JAE, im currently waiting on the information pack to be sent through with all the details, but for now going from my notes that i took while at the rep meet.

- Show N shine is now moved to Friday instead of Saturday, Show N shine hopefuls can bring there cars in on the Thursday to get set up and start getting preped.

- Tunnel run is now being incorporated into the Show, with the event taking place in London, people will be leaving for the tunnel run from 12am Friday night / Saturday morning. doing the tunnel run and coming back. this is to give people more of a chance to do the tunnel run.

Cars that turn up on the Sunday (as long as they are jap) will be able to be placed on the stand.

more details once i get the rep pack. but these are the important ones.

i actually liked the unevenness of the plot last year, meant if you placed your tent right, you had a raised head over your feet and was way more comfortable for sleeping in the tent lol
