As some of you know i changed the 4 plugs not under the balance bar last week.

Having now got the right o rings etc i plan to change those 2 tomorrow..

However

Since i changed the other 4 and pried the balance bar up maybe an inch but not off i have developed a horrific rattle from that area on the drivers side....

Basically this rattle sounds like a metal on metal high speed rattle. It only does it under load, i.e not when you just rev it... also it does NOT do it when you change down and the revs peak or you hold the revs at any point.

It literally only does it (and its really loud) when you push the throttle, gets progressively worse the more throttle you give it......

Finally i have noticed it seems to have coincided with a loss in torque.....

My first thought is that it is a boost leak from the balance bar..... However the boost gauge (Proofec B II) isnt showing any signs that im not getting the right psi (Im not sure where this takes a reading from however).

Any advice would be most welcome,

Cheers

Morning All,

Final two plugs are changed :) what a ball ache of a job that was.... certainly for me anyway :( :(.

Found a lot of fresh oil in both plugs, which i assume is something to do with the fact i need the PCV valves changing..... didnt manage to sort out the bad rattle... and it is is really bad now,

She is going to Zedword soon for some body repairs after the trampoline incident so im hoping Jeff will have a look at it then for me...

Cheers for your help

Yeah a neighbours massive trampoline blew over the fence and landed on the Z :( :(

how did u get on with that ... is it covered on there insurance ?

Initially Churchill next doors house insurer basically said they wouldnt cover it. My neighbour (fearing my insurance coming after them for the cash directly) then sent them a letter declaring that they had been negligent in how they stored the trampoline..... The house insurer then had no option but to pay out and im just waiting for the paperwork to come through to sort out...

Basically my neighbour was going to say tough its not covered.... When they realised i wasnt going to let i go and was prepared to lose my no claims..... they changed thier tune....
