As title suggests I got a new pink V5 for my zed today, first time i've really looked at it to be honest, turns out its missing some information.... they don't have the model, the engine number, or even the number of seats. and it's apparently a 5 door hatchback.

However it does state the year of manufacture as 1996, even though its a G plate. and first registered/imported in September 2003. but why would it be labeled as a 1990, if it was actually made in 96. also does that mean its got, or should have some extras that the older versions didn't?

It may have a private plate on the car

Yep could have.... And the later models actually came with less stuff!

cut and shut

??????

How would I go about finding out if it is a private plate? not that it'll worth anything.

put some pics up and look at the chassis plate it quite simple to tell your date of manufacture. if your worried about cut and shut then start checking over the internal pannels. i doubt it is though more than likly the dvla or importer have cacked up many ember have zeds listed as nissan gt or nissan pimera.

My first thoughts - you didn't say whether you have already had a V5 for the car. DVLA is currently issuing the new red/pink V5 doc to replace all the old blue ones.....

.....so unless you have just bought your ZX, have you checked the details on the new V5 against the old one? If different, just return the new one to DVLA with a copy of the old one, to show what should be on there!

Yeah i've got on old one, i'll have to dig it out to check but i don't think it has the year of manufacture on it. I know i've seen the import date before but its the first time i've seen that.
