Its 1200cc and one turbo short perhaps, not to mention 8 valves and two cylinders, one intercooler etc etc!!

Never looked at one, but do they have a TPS like on 300's ?

The connector on the TPS usually comes loose, a good idea, is to go round the entire engine bay and remove all the electrical connectors (one by one ) and clean them with some connector cleaner.

This worked a treat on my car, not a zx and I think that worked on SRRAE's car too.

Another thing is to clean the throttle butterflies and clean em up.

Also on thing to get checked would be the Lambda Sensor possibly, this can throw errors up like that.

Clean the butterflys and all the electrical connectors first as this is easy to do.

There is a how to on the butterflys but is a piece of piss, take off the big hoses on the inlet plenum and you'll see the valves, clean off any black gunk with carb cleaner, a toothbruth and wipe clean with a rag! easy peasy. You may have *a little* trouble starting the car afterwards but it will start! just keep turning it!

Someone else will no doubt go into more detail though.

But yeah I'd agree with the TPS thing, also what's the idle like, other than the lack of responce to the trottle do you have any problems.

200s are nice cars - I remember how made up a mate of mine was when he managed to scrape together enough as an underpaid graphics artist at Amstrad to afford one. Silver, I think. Then he wrapped it around something so bad he bent the chassis. Ouch.

the 200sx board is really very good.

I don't have any pics and not worked out how to use my scanner yet !. It's a 1992 white leather TT with no mods but not restricted to 155mph (according to seller). It's done ~80k miles. I plan to get a smart exhaust, upgrade the ECU, air filter, bodykit, spoiler, stereo, etc. !!

 

I live on the North Wales border, near Chester, I work near Ellesmere Port for Shell in Engine Lubricants, so I know the importance of oil changes.

 

I asked about my 200Sx here because I thought it was probably a common (not worth going to an SX site for), simple problem someone cud easily diagnose 4 me. I have little/no mechanical/engine experience - just a basic understanding of how they work. I would like to work on my engines (partly to cut down garage bills), but I have no experience.I had the butterfly's ? cleaned out on my 300 cos it was occasionally stalling on idle while cold. 200SX sometimes does the same. The engine sounds OK, but idle is a bit low -hence stalls if stopped in drive sometimes.
