was some one looking for 350Z & Infiniti G 6-Speed Trans Adaptor for 300ZX (Z32)

hi all, was some one looking for a adaptor kit for a 6-speed trany to z32...!

here the link http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/news.asp

The 350Z & Infiniti G came with a very strong 6-Speed transmission that is starting to show up more and more at the auto recyclers, making for a reasonably priced option for other high-powered Nissans. Unfortunately, it sports an integrated bell housing, making this conversion difficult at best. By scrounging an automatic tranny bell housing from an automatic that was fitted to the same motor you are adapting to, this adaptor ties everything together. Either the 07+ 350Z Concentric Release Bearing or an aftermarket C.R.C. (Tilton) can be used. The no longer used VQ35 bell housing is cut away and the new adaptor replaces the original front sealing cover. This adaptor can mount a 6-Speed to a VG30DE(TT), SR20DE, KA24DE, or VH45DE engine. Adaptors for the VK56 and others will be available soon after the release of this adaptor. Contact Ben for release date or other information. 619 442-0680

I dont think personally a zed32 needs 6 gears. The ratios are long anyway so 6 gears would be pointless.Youll get sick of gearchanging.

think it would be good should have a better 0>60 as the gearing would be not as long ...

but what about the final drive this would be a problem right ?

what if you have the power to warrant 6 gears though? may be a way to bring down quarter mile times

Interesting how opinion differs on this as there have been several ocassions where I've thought that the only real failing by Nissan regarding the Z32, was the fact that a 6 speed option wasn't made available.

Let's get some thoery and stats flowing fellas......

could make your 1/4 mile time slower as you might have to do an extra change before you cross the line.

Thats what was good about the fiat coupe. had a really long 3rd gear and would go to 110/115mph. great in a race :)

could do with the gear ratio chart for both box's

G35 box....................Z32.................Auto

1: 3.794:1............1st: 3.214...........1st: 2.784

2: 2.324:1............2nd: 1.925..........2nd: 1.544

3: 1.624:1............3rd: 1.302...........3rd: 1.000

4: 1.271:1............4th: 1.000...........4th: 0.694

5: 1.000:0............5th: 0.752

6: 0.794:1

Found a some info looks like the 6sp box has a slightly shorter final drive so top end wouldn't be the same

mid range gearing would be far better tho

Turbocharged zeds have wide torque ranges thats why only 5 gears are needed.6 speeds are more suited to modern turbo diesels and n/a petrol cars to keep them on the power.Imho it just isnt suited to a 6 speed box and it will only detract from its driving pleasure.3rd and 4th are so tall gears it just aint necessary. An extra gear would just be a pita after a while. They will do 185mph using the 5 speed so i just dont see how a 6 speed box from a slower non turbo car is an enhancement ?

That ain't the best for power mate.

Going back to the 350Z box, don't forget these were plagued with problems in 2003/04 with many replaced under warranty and even some still needing changing a 2nd time!

Lot of money for this route for very little benefit IMO, i've always belived our boxes to be very strong, age is not on their side now of course, but other than that...................
