Can i go bigger than the 245 45 16 tyres?what size would you recomend.

Just been looking and i think 245 is as wide as you can go on those rims unless i have a bigger profile.

IIRC the UK rear wheels are 8.5 inches wide - so you probably could go to a 255 on the rims.....

 

.....if you can find the tyres that is. With many more cars having 17s and even 18s as standard nowadays, even the stock 245/45/16 tyres are getting harder to come by as fewer manufacturers produce that size.

 

Hence I, among many others, have upgraded to bigger wheels. With more choice available, the 17 or 18 inch tyres may actually be cheaper than stock sizes!

Thanks Richard,agree 16's are small wheels these days and tyre choice definately seems limited.
