Just got a quote for chrome powder coating to do my wheels again.

 

£220 for drive in and out same day.

 

Just wondering if thats a good price and has anybody seen chrome powder coating for alloys ?

 

The laquers all went cloudy on my 18's and was thinking powder rather than getting them re pollished and laquered again.

 

Laquer will no doubt eventually tarnish but powder coating doesnt.

 

What you think - polish or powder ?

There called Carrick Alloy Restoration and just bought over a part of another company i used to use called Carrick Engineering.

 

They are based in Prestwick / Scotland but dont have a website or any pics available of there work.

 

However i have used them for powder coating alloys in the past and there work is top notch.

 

Just never herd of chrome style untill today.

What sorta costings you looking at to coat a set of 18" alloys? a diff lip colour to the centre?

No not a service we provide....just posting what i've heard/read

Powder coat chrome is like an old stlye chrome finish, slightly dull, but with a nice shine. Prices can vary form pretty cheap to very expensive, depending on the size of the item to be PCC.
