Just wondered if any of you guys have had this happen to you.Took car out today and as i pulled out of a junction she started to splutter badly and wouldn,t rev up on boost (When needle was trying to go past half way mark on dash). Looked under bonnet and some of the pipe work on pas side were frozen (not sure wot there for as this is still new to me).So i thought i,d ask the gurus on here as to wot the problem could be (is it the turbos or somthing else) Any advice would be grateful as im not going to be defeated on my project z.Cheers in advance.

frozen - is it that cold down there? sounds like it could be coincedence and just simply a connector come off - PTU maybe?

Ok im not free for a couple of days, but it sounds like a boost hose what parta dorch my granparents are in broadmayne.

If It's frozen couldn't it be a fault with am aircon leak or such ?

Sounds like a dodgy connection to the MAF unit to me,

worth removing and cleaning it.

As for a frozen pipe, sounds like the cold side of the air conditioning,

was the air con on?

I dont think i had the air con on just wind screen blower.I,m at castle park area on the way towards maiden castle. Cheers for advice so far will have a better look 2moro after work..

As said - frozen? In dorset? Sure it was 1.5 degrees in Buckinghamshire this morning but there was no overnight frost or ice etc.....

......and I imagine Dorset to be a few degrees warmer being further south....

....like some others have suggested, are you sure it's not an a/c pipe giving rise to the issue?

Richard:sweatdrop:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Not sure could be will have to take a closer look.As for the frozen part i should have siad the pipes were fine it was just the connection they were bright white and very cold.As for the weather part it was quite warm here so it wasn,t the weather that frosted the pipes soory if i diddent make much sense in my first thread

Oh right not too far then il workbout when im free. You in a hurry? And yohr correct richard.we have only had a hanfull of frosts here. It was 12degrees yesterday day time

Just a quick update cant find any leaks on hoses and such like all connections maf seem alright but engine is running real lumpy even on tick over.

OK, not sure what exactly you've done....

so have you checked each of the coil packs... by unplugging them one at a time to see if there is any difference..

also try running it with the MAF unplugged see if it's worse.

the connector checks should include pulling them apart and cleaning any corrosion.

i think there are instructions on here somewhere about making a rudimentary plug for the air intake and then pressurising the induction system.

check the connection to the ECU but you shouldn't disconnect it with the battery connected (so I've been told).

that was one of my thoughts. i recon its either blown off a boost hose or the maff has got wet. disconnect the maf then disconnect the batt for 30 minutes reconnect the battery and fire up it should rev to about 3k fine and idle fine. that will indicate a maf fault you can also as sujested disconnect each coil pack connection the revs should fall. if not the cylinder isnt firing. i dont think im gonna be free this weekend mate but monday night i should be free if thats any use to you?

You're from Dorchester and you have a Zed! Is It by chance a silver one I keep seeing?

(I live a few miles outa town)

yeah we have them quite regulary they get posted up on here we had one few weeks back, normally at the dorset knob in poole.

Main page scroll down events and meetings south central. Do you work for atlas over at winfirth bud?

I had 0 boost issues and it was down to the det sensor. Check the ECU first I guess.
