Have done a search but cant find much.......

A couple of times since the weekend my 'power' light has flashed 16 times when I turn the ignition on and the box appears to be pulling off in second gear, as it seems to require more revs than normal to get the old girl going.Has anyone else had this problem and know a possible cause?.

I am changing the box for a manual shortly, but dont really want any problems between now and then.any help or advice appreciated :)

i do have the same problem :) no solution found yet :) can`t do autobox diagnostics cos my imobiliser doesn`t let to do it ... can it be done on demo version of conzult ?

All 10 flashes the same = No error codes detected.

1st flash longer than others = Revolution sensor is shorted or disconnected.

2nd flash longer than others = Speed sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected.

3rd flash longer than others = Throttle sensor circuit is shorted or disconnected.

4th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "A" circuit is shorted or disconnected

5th flash longer than others = Shift solenoid "B" circuit is shorted or disconnected

6th flash longer than others = Overrun clutch solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected

7th flash longer than others = Lock-up solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected

8th flash longer than others = Fluid temperature sensor is disconnected or A/T control unit power source circuit is damaged.

9th flash longer than others = Engine revolution signal circuit is shorted or disconnected

10th flash longer than others = Line pressure solenoid circuit is shorted or disconnected

All the same with no long start flash = Battery low, been disconnected, or control unit has just been reconnected.

If it happens when you start the engine, it's a warning that error codes are present

You need to do the auto box diagnostic test in the link Andy P put up and then the codes flash as in that post and give you the error

I'm not too sure, but didn't someone have the same problem and it ended up being a fuse???

Out of curiosity where is the fuse for the box?

Ask vodkashots!

Checked the a/t fuse in drivers footwell fusebox and thats ok, dont know if there are any others anywhere?

I used to get this on my original auto box , if i switched off and started her up again it would be ok , sometimes i had to switch off and start up a few times , once " re-set " it would be perfect , now after a few years this box died and i replaced with a guaranteed good one and would you believe on a couple of occasions it did the same thing which made me think it might have been a fault elsewhere ! never did find the cause though , really strange problem .

Not much help am i :blushing::blushing: lol

Seems intermittent on mine, as long as it lasts a few weeks until I get my manual conversion done I can live with it :)

it will last longer :) if it`s jap import just put it on hold and the revs will drop down.... i have the same thing for very long time just have no time to fix it :)

Fuse for the box is in the drivers foot well, no mine wasnt showing an error code due to the ECU not having power as the fuse was blown, i had error 53 on consults, which is ECU can not talk to Auto ECU (again due to the fuse) you will know if the fuse has blown as you only have 1 2 and reverse.

Ask vodkashots!

Again, no point asking me as i didnt have the same issue

You need to do the diagnostics that andyP put up to find out what the code is for mine is still showing the code for lock up solenoid failed, but the gearbox works fine, im just stuck in safety boost with no engine error codes, and i get the lock up solenoid fault even when i reset both ecu's

Mine has been doing this aswell lately i am sweating it as this will be my 4th gearbox lol... and have been so much more carefull with this one .... when important at lights it pulls off like its in 2nd but if i click into neutral and back to drive it pulls off fine.. ill check the fuse on mine today.. failing that zedworld can have a crack at it..... fingers crossed its not another new box needed.... i should learn how to change it myself.. As it needs replacing every other week.... Lol

Ok guys don't want to hijack the thread but i think if i post what problem i found others that have the same problem but unable to check autobox diagnostics can check the source of my problem if someone is able to answer and either fix or eliminate it from there problems......

So i just been out and done the autobox diagnostics and i got the code .. speed sensor shorted or disconnected....

Where do i start to look????

You might just need to replace the speed sensor matey, not sure on a auto if you can change it, ill check in the garage as i have a auto box sitting there doing nothing with its speed sensor still on it.

iirc jeff posted a topic regarding the speed sensor where the inner piece lifts away from the sensor body and causes a poor connection.the post also ran through how to repair it.may be worth doing a search :)

just seen jeffs post regarding the sensor and a few other posts showing the location etc..... ill get under the car tomorow and have a go...... cheers guys..

Possibly the connectors on the driver side inner wing in the engine bay???

Thems the fellas :), next to the Hicas gubbins.

inner wing or engine bay ? :)

On the drivers side inner wing,in the engine bay, to the left of the hicas pump there are three connectors for the box.
