Yep, of course it is.

Dodge Viper GTS coupe has an illuminated badge as the brake light! My next car once I'm done with zeds! :cool2:

I've got one in the garage somewhere!

As long as on the rear you can show red lights, white reverse, and amber front is white and amber

so what you are suggesting is legal

im sure you could d.i.y it with the ilummiated thingymagiggers

is that whilst using the whatsamacallit doohickers

Dont quote me on it, but if you wire it through the brakelights it may illuminate the 'lights' warning light on the dash (the one that lights up if you got a brakelight out).sure I read it on the net somewhere.

thats what i was kinda getting at like the iluminated quarter window strips wired into the brake lights

i had to jump a wire on the relay next to the aerial to get my converted rear lights to work the diabolo type as i was doing away with a buld each side have a search see if you can find anything, i dont have errors now but then again i did have a bulb out and it didnt show errors then so looks like it bypasses the bulb fault feature

Done it myself, take the 4 small nails out then heat the edge with a heat gun to softer the glue/sealer. Then pry the tabs carefully and it comes apart, then just spray it black and sand the raised lettering, bang in a CCFL tube/ led's and you're good to go.

Just saw another one of those illuminated 300zx panels go for a cracking price again on eBay!

Just wondered if it would be illegal or not to illuminate the panel along with the brakes as that would be cool !

As long as its a red one mind.

Quite simple to wire these into the brake lights instead of the number plate light pick up point but don't forget it will be off then on a lot more and will surely not be good for the inverter and/or the sheet.

My other point Lee is, it will just not look bright enough, it is ideally suited to have on with the lights as it is more of a subtle illumination.

This is why a thin EL sheet is used, I have tried to light up with the smd strips and they are just too fat as the panels do not squeeze together as they should and just compress these strips
