Hi,

Hi does anyone know the diameter of the pipework to the throttle bodys?

I cant remember if its 50mm 65mm. Im going to buy silicone T pieces so i can install a balance pipe.

Also has anyone also installed reducers since installing the Z1s larger throttle bodies? If so what diameter did you use as the stock hoses are very hard to put on.

These are the pipes im talking about:

std throttle bodies are 60mm O/D mate.

yeah that's correct mate.

Just to add the silicone sleeve used on hard pipe kits is 63mm ID at the throttle body end, not that effects your plans.

You will of course have to cut short your existing hard pipes down in length to fit those tee pieces and hopefully have enough room.

Shoow us a pic of your hard pipes again fella

Hi Smithy thanks for your reply...Im hoping im going to be able to find away as like you say its going to be very tight between the throttle body and the BOV. Hopefully when they arrive i can work something out.

One thing i was thinking of is maybe marking up on the hard pipe where the T piece will sit and drill a 25mm hole in the same location so i wont loose the beed on the hard pipe.

Or trimming down the longer end so it will move the BOVs down allowing more room at the throttle body end.

Cheers Dan

Well those pipes look like the ones i used to sell, which if they are the throttle body stainless pipe is ALL 63mm O/D and tbh as the pipe is so short and you need to keep the stainless pipe 15mm away from touching the throttle body or intercooler pipe the other end, your gonna struggle mate i reckon.

If you cut a 5mm wide ring of the stainless pipe, when your finished messing about, slot it over the pipe again on the end and tack 3 spots of weld on and hey presto you have your bead back on again!

good luck anyways mate.

Oh if it were me, i'd do it throttle body end so your gonna need your tee pieces to be 63mm ID with a 25mm ish tee off

Thanks smithy that's what I ordered 63mm with a 25mm outlet. Your correct the pipe is the all the same diameter its just the the reducer that makes them fit. Thanks for the info ill let you know how I get on.

Thanks Dan

What's the advantage of a balance pipe in this location. I've seen them a couple of times on high power VG's, Is the plenum balance bar not sufficient at high boost? Anyone know?

Dan did you pay £30.99 for the T piece, we could have done them £27.72. If you need anymore bits let me know.

It balances the air flow before the plenum because apprently with a FMIC one bank runs richer than the other due to the setup of the intercooler and pipework being different.

Anthony sorry it totally slipped my mind. Im paid £29.09 delivered. I will be in need of more pipework soon.

Thanks Dan
