At full temp, both those grades are the same mate! It's the "40" bit that indicates the viscocity once warm - the first number before the "w" is the ability to circulate round the engine quickly from cold. The lower the number the better it is at very low winter (hence the "w") ambient temperatures.

Nissan recommended a 10w40 - and TBH that is fine for the temperatures we see in the UK. Also a semi-synth was originally recommended - but that was over 20 years ago when fully synth was not as advanced or as readily available as now.

Personally in a twin turbo, I'd go for a decent brand of fully synth in either 5w40 or 10w40. Whichever one is easiest to obtain (most petrol station brands seem to be 5w40).

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I put Quantum 5w30 in mine. It's £300 for a 208 litre barrel (or free from work :D)

I get a similar deal for Mobil 1 (not the £300 per barrel tho LOL) :innocent:
