Not a good start to the year, lost it on the motorway on some black ice, skidded across the carriageway, shot down the ditch and rolled it all at the speed of 70-80 mph. The motorway is de restricted as it happened in Germany.

Damage to both sides, front and roof. Will put some pics up later.

Thankfully I got out without a single scratch, to say I'm impressed with the car is an understatement.

Pretty sure it's a write off, problem is with my 300 at Jimmers I'm now without a car and not sure how I'm going to get my kit back to England.

bugger, have you had a word with the insurance guys see if they can help you out with transport, glad your ok, 300zx has a better safety rating than a 350, well as long as your seat belts are mounted on the body and not the door (so some website said)

Glad your OK mate, that's the main thing. Sounds like when I wrote my jdm off but I was only doing 50 when it hit the black ice.

EDIT Just read that you rolled as well :scared:

I've been the victim of this too (thankfully at much lower speed).

Glad you walked away unscathed though. Maybe your insurance will cover you for a courtesy car until they cough up the insurance claim

Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)

As long as you are ok and nobody was hurt mate the car can be replaced. Black ice on the autobahn at speed could of been very bad news.

Exactly - I second what Gary just said!

Glad you are OK though Rob - and I hope you can get things sorted quickly mate.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cheers for the comments guys,

Your right it's only a car lol.

Moving back to the UK and new job without a car just makes life harder, will look at the hire car option but it won't be from Germany to UK, prob UK only.

Oh well never mind haha

Thats awful news mate but as has been said you seem to have come out of it well. I hope you get it sorted soon.

Hope so mate, just don't know what in LOL. Not gonna mope about, get my head down and crack on so to speak. I'm not hurt so no need to feel sorry for myself.

Now what car shall I buy haha

Sheesh, couldn't have happened at a worse time either as you say, coming home n' all. Glad you're ok though bud, could have been a lot worse, I had a very scary moment on some black ice a few weeks back in the Alfa, wasn't travelling anywhere near that quick though as was on a side road, shows how bad it could have been if I'd been on a motorway or something.

It was going up for sale next week anyway so prob not. Is an awesome car in my opinion and can't recommend them enough after today. Not sure what to get, may use the 300 as the daily driver for a while.

Exactly right, metal can be repaired/replaced, a life can't. Glad you walked away from it unhurt Rob. Not a good start to 2012 for you.
