Tell adrian flux its modified, with them it reduces the price. Thats what im having to do with mine.

Dont know how ppl on here are getting these lo quotes, unless there only insuring it as a 2nd car for only 1000miles a year. Cos mine was £350 with flux and is now £980.

Try Lynbrook - they take a while to get back to you but they were the best quote for me by far

mine was a quote for an only car full no claims 7000 miles a year commuting to and from work davezx

just got a quote from swinton for a 1989 tt auto £244 bargain

Be careful it has not been rated as a Z31 it is very common for this to happen on 89 models as there was a changeover that year. When I had my first zed over 10 years ago this happened to me, lucky no claim issue it got picked up on the renewal the following year. From there on I insisted the policy showed it to be a Z32 300zx,last year paid a little over 6k for our traders policy which is a lot of cash but covers us, customers and all of our own cars so with my zed tagged on my trader policy I do not feel it any more, I do feel for you guys about these big insurance quotes though.

I am hearing alot about people receiving high quote's,I'm with sky insurance and the Zed is my main car limited to 5000 miles a year and I'm only paying around £390 a year fully comp........Mind you I am getting old at the ripe old age of 37,lol

Well im 56 so lot older. got one from admiral who said yes 1994 twin turbo £1069. I said know 1995 non turbo. which they said are then its £1540. And i have 5 year no claims.

dont aim for the big typically advertised companies, look for a classic policy, try footman james.

try saga m8 a lot cheaper for the over 50s like us lol

footman james were rediculas for both me and becky. Lynbrook said no as well as sky and that was on the bmw 330D

Becks insurance has flown up now. because in the new year the women are ment to be treated the same as men now.

I'm 28, with 0 NCD, but a clean licence and no accidents, 1990 UK TT with Admiral - £750ish

Footman James - £240 for me. I'm 27 doing 5,000 miles a year parked in a private car park!! SWB TT JDM. Classic policy via Equity red star I believe

FJ wont touch my car as it has mods, im 30, 11 years ncb, its a second car and garaged in a low crime area, best i can get is around £900

im chipped, exhaust, filter, suspension, brakes, wheels etc etc etc, i like using flux hey are not cheap butt flux rescue is amazing when abroad

Just got new qoute from Adrain Flux its now down to £960 so not too bad . one more year i can keep the car lol

why so high... I thought mine was bad at just over £500.... (I'm also over 50)

mine is a jap import and a daily drive so high mileage.

I know most of the guys on here get decent prices on insurance because they have limited mileage... and classic insurance...

I don't know how you guys do it :surrender:

My renewal from lynbrook was £418

I am in a low risk postcode area, in my mid forties with a clean licence and driving record. The Zed is JDM N/A SWB, insured as a second car. Private driveway parked, limited mileage, Insurance approved immobilizer, aftermarket wheels declared etc et.

Footman James quoted me £455, but rang back later and got it to £388.

Still a bit steep for me atm, I could try Flux, but they were ridiculous last year, so kinda stuck atm :confused1:

I live in london so that dont help. Its also parked on the road. I have a approved immobilizer. Clean licence. Im over 55 . But i think insurance companys make it up as they go along. was told by Admiral that as it was not a twin turbo it would be £400 more what a joke.

Well I was gonna leave Adrian Flux but gave them one last chance to quote:

29 years old. 7yrs ncb All mods declared, 9k guarenteed value, 12000 miles a year, Fully comp £447 this year.

they originally quoted over £1800

cant knock them this year.

8 Yrs NCB, £225 with the Post Office. They tried to put it up last year to £435 so I asked to speak to the supervisor about the steep increase.

At first, she said it was because of the general inflation of car insurance. When I told her that I would like her to send my no claim bonus through the post so that I could change companies, low and behold....a price was agreed....£225. There are always ways around insurance, you just need to shop around a bit a talk to someone within the insurance company who has the authority to strike a deal.

Does anybody know if having traction control fitted would decrease or increase the insurance?

I'm hoping for a decrease :)
