Sub frame corrossion

The wayward rear end of this particular zed caught the owners attention and he knew something was wrong.

The very corroded subframe was removed as can be seen by the pictures the o/s lower suspension arm was not connected anymore to the subframe at the rear most fixing point.

The level of corrossion was sever on the whole assembly, so it was concidered the most effective repair was to change the lot wholesale, not a particular tricky job ( with ramps etc ) but a bit long winded.

A suitable donor was removed from a breaker and once fitted all was as it should be.

Holy cow! I thought Sub Frames were supposed to be the last thing to actually rot on the whole car? That's an INSANE amount of rot! Was the car parked in the ocean for a while and then left on the beach to dry or something?
