Its got some in, but not much. Gonna try some fresh fuel in it tommorow. Found a broken injector wire and redone the timing.

redone the timing.

How??

Anyway, now your getting there, a basic ECU diagnostic would show which 1 of the 2 main sensors that stops the zed from starting, much as a conzult would, assuming it is a sensor that is.

Both the CAS and ECU temp sensor being the obvious ones, nip out and do one it only takes 5 mins.

Stripped front end back down took timing belt off and reffited it. Cant do the timing on pulley till it starts. Sorry ment to say timing as in the belt.

how do you do the ecu test?.

Found that none of the injectors are firing.

Well that certainly points to the CAS, so fingers crossed thats it.

smithy

Hmmm you put the engine loom earth back on? its on loom at back of motor about where the EGR goes, if you don't have that on you will lose injectors as they are wired to that earth.

*earths to motor middle rear of plenum, not to firewall.

Got that one on. will be trying again this morning.

If it doesnt work his time i'll be changing cas unit(think i got a spare one somewhere)

Well that certainly points to the CAS, so fingers crossed thats it.

yup - I would suspect CAS too - usually will throw code 11 when faulty

If it is the CAS, it will show up as an error code.

Bare in mind it might show more than 1 code, so count the flashes in between each time it pauses, the same number of flashes repeated is just the 1 code.

Easy cas test is to remove it and whilst still plugged in and the ignition on spin the shaft, the fuel pump should run and the injectors click away.

Just done ecu test and it just has 1 error showing. Code 21 ignition signal circuit.

That's your PTU then mate.

Clean the connections really well and try another.

Nice one, thanks mate.

Have tested the cas unit today.

Result - its firing injectors and electric fan.

Also changed the PTU and still same result.

Its turning over, firing injectors and still has same code 21 error on ECU.

Any more ideas please?.

Just a thought but would a unplugged reverse sensor stop car from starting??. My cars a uk manual with a import manual box on it, but didnt plug in that sensor as its broken on connector on gearbox.

Is the electric fan coming on when you turn the ignition on and try to start?

The code will remain for so many starts until cleared by disconnecting the battery for a while or reset of the ECU.
