EGT METER

ive got a boost gauge

thinking about getting oil pressure

is a good gauge to buy an EGT?TO KEEP an eye on my fuel(rich or lean)?

Featured Replies

To be of any use the EGT sensor needs to be fitted into the manifold before the turbo, which is as you know not easy to get to. Most people fit them when the engine is out.

Tell me about it I've got two on the way... ONE guage would be ok BUT really you need two - one for each manifold. Fortunately (or unfortunately depends how you look at it) my engine is out at the moment so fitting will be easy(ish)...

I would get an A/F guage and plumb it into the existing Lambda sensor(s) - you could fit a switch to switch between the two... I have done this but it doesn't give you an accurate reading - just a clue...

Carry on at this rate and your cars gonna look like a christmas tree at night... wink.gif

Oh and I can confirm that these guages are expensive - VERY expensive frown.gif But for certain tuning needs ( wink.gif) they are pretty damn essential biggrin.gif

andy how much did you pay and where from ?wat do you recomend?jay

Jay.

summitracing.com is the cheapest by far for autometer gauges that I have found, just type EGT into their keyword search.

About $200 for a dual channel kit that you can use to show both exhausts or $90 for single ones. I suppose it depends on how many gauge pods you want around biggrin.gif

the probes need to be bought seperate and cost between $50 and $100.
