Yeah a lot of non owners who do like them but have never really investigated think the majority are auto (That was the truth once upon a time but I think with all the manual conversions going on, it's getting less true if it isn't already a false) as for the T-Top comment, he's just an idiot, lol.

I've been told my grey one was a nice skyline....!

 

Other than that, on the few shows Ive had the car at, few people know what it is and casually wander around the back of it to read the badge and say to their mate whos 10 paces behind oh its a 300zx pretending they knew, very funny!

 

Or they just read the info sheet I put in the window.

 

There was a picture of one, where a bodyshop and re fitted to the Z badge so it was akin to an N... :( fail!

I think it's great...to me it's part of the fun of owning a Zed. So far I have had an extensive disagreement with a man at my local BP station. He refused to believe it was a K reg and practically accused me of displaying a fake number plate!

 

At a Waitrose petrol station the chap at the till was convinced it was the new Lotus Evora!

 

At the services on junction 2 of the M40 a man in a Porsche GT3 asked me what it was and where he could get one!

 

To cap it all, I was driving on the M25 a couple of weeks ago and two men in an Audi R8 slowed down and pulled along side me. They spent about a minute looking at the Zed and having a conversation between head turning and pointing...brilliant...and how much had they just spent?!

 

Long live the mystery of our cars and the conversations they spark!:smartass::whistling:

Guy: Lovely car mate, what colour is it?

 

Me: (Confused, seeing as we're looking at the car I respond to him like he's a bit special) Er, it's blue.

 

Guy: Pardon? (looking at me like I'm special)

 

Me: It's blue.

 

Guy: (Still looking at me like I'm special) No mate, I asked what car it is!

Went to Morrisons to fill up with fuel a few weeks ago, I was staring at the nicest wide arch 911 carrera 4 turbo!!! the Asian lad filling the porche up was having a sly look at the vert, his reg plate was something like `vrooom` he nodded with appreciation and zoomed off and it sounded friggin awesome!!........... any ways a few days later I was jet washing the vert on my drive and I heard this voice calling hi mate do you sell carpets????? I must have looked confused and asked why, he had seen some old carpet in my carport and thought i was a carpet sales man,lol, as he was walking towards me he saw the vert tucked behind my van and nearly fell to his feet,LOL!!!!!! (His words) OH MY GOD, what the hell is that??/ were you in morriosons the other day, that car is bloody beautiful mate??lol.....anyway we got chatting and I showed him under my bonnet, at that instant he wanted to buy it on the spot(honest) he wished his Porche looked like mine and loved the wheels and everything about it( I`m thinking is he fookin mad?)!!!!.....anyway sorry for the long winded story but , he really did appreciate the zed, I showed his my TT aswell and he just couldnt belive what our cars were worth????(fook all)lol.......we had a good old chat about cars,women ect and fook me 2 hours later a rumbling outside my house and the porker turned up all 700bhp of it!!!!!!it was a special addition carrera turbo with a wide arch kit on it( absolutley beautiful) and I dont normally like Porches!!!! it cost him £78,000 2 years ago and I will be taking it out when he has his leaking split rim sorted out(loosing tyre pressure badly) he lives just round the corner from me and were off on a track day in the summer, he so wants the vert for the weekend and I can swap it for a weekend lend of the Porche!!!!!! Fookin cant wait!!!!!

When you swap cars for the day make sure you rig his fuel pump with a discreet remote cut off switch and keep the remote in the zeds glove box, then next summer meet him down Santa Pod at a RWYB and race him for 'pink slips' :ninja:

Funny thing is Gaz, before I told him what they are worth(or not worth) lol, he probably would have swapped, he was a real petrol head but had never seen a 300zx before(or realised what they were :)

Mine is totally debadged and has GT Concepts in Chrome on the rear panel which is also white like the car.

 

People can't work out what it is lol.

 

I sit in the pub on am thursday night watching people walk around looking for badges lol.

 

I think it resemble a Lambo more than any of the others because of it's unique shape :)

So nice to have a car that is not instinctivly recognisable and stands out from the crowed:cool3:

Apart from the calipers at the minute, there are no badges or anything that says Nissan. Having different rear lights also helps with the mystique lol, i dont mind telling them what it is once they have had a good look and cant work it out.

i cant wait to get my new Z na on the road, wen i had my old tt, i had, nice ferrari, people stopping me in the car park, its like bein famous lol

mines red when i first got it next door thought it was brand new, ive been asked what make of ferrari it is before buy a guy in morrisons car park, in fact it gets mistaken for a rarri quite a lot!! hell im not about to start correcting people lol
