After 12 1/2 years we had to make the decision to have faithful friend put to sleep, some may remeber we lost our other one last summer suddenly. Sasha was the little side kick who despite being small had the attitude of a lion and would take on any size dog. We had the pair of them for 12 years and they were never apart, through all the good times and the bad, they were always there to make things better. She accepted our new arrivals without problems and looked after them. Sasha had a heart issues but the medication didn't cure and having to make that decision was heart breaking even though it ended her suffering. This happened Monday but only now can I type this so here's to you Sash RIP and have fun with Cassie now your reunited.

m8 i know how you feel our dog Max had to be put down in Jan due to heart Problem as the meds didnt work

this is him ...

I know exactly how you feel mate, since the day I was born we've always had dogs in the family and sadly had to see them go. It's important that you remember the good life you gave Sasha and remember the good times. Everything and everyone has to die at some time in life - it's going to be one hell of a party when you meet up on the other side! :)

Sorry to hear this mate, I had to have one of my cats put to sleep in january this year, due to an incurable illness. It's a a very hard thing to do but she's not suffering anymore mate.

Sorry to hear your news buddy, it is like losing a family member, remember all the good times you gave to them and they gave to you.

R.I.P

R.I.P all our fallen friends and family.

Hello bud,

Really sorry to hear for your loss. My first dog J.D passed away nearly 7 years ago and I still miss her, still say goodnight to her every night. I had to make the same decision and it's hard. You've done the right in not letting her suffer, she would have trusted you to do the right thing. Just remember her with a smile and think of all the times she made you laugh.

I can't remember who, but a forum member PM'd me when J.D left with "Rainbow Bridge"

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they each miss someone very special, someone who was left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver. Suddenly, he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass, faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, those trusting eyes, so long gone from your life, but never absent from your heart. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together...

Sorry to hear that fella its always horrible to loose such a loving family member.

I know only too well how much this hurts. Being a dog person, from a dog person family, I've had to say goodbye to a hell of a lot over the years, as much as each one hurts a little, the one that is "yours" hurts the most every time. I remember having to have Mitzi (My first dog, had her from 4 til I was 16) put down because of cancer, I cried for days.
