Hi guys,

 

Got some Eibach 15mm Spacers, without them I can't fit my brembo brakes. The nuts are sitting to proud causing the wheels to not sit properly. Only realised after I fitted them and scuffed the back of the wheel. Doh!

 

Had a look at Jeffs thread but didn't see a solution to the problem, as far as I'm concerned I haven't bought crappy parts and I am using the nuts that come with them.

Do the wheel studs fit properly or are they loose? There are two sizes, when I bought my hubcentrics I first ended up with thin nuts, had to ask the guy to send me the proper ones which would seat themselves properly in the hubs.

The nuts should not be proud of the face of the spacers Rob I have 25mm spacers and the nuts are well recessed into the spacers

I can do the nuts up tight enough on the hub/spacer and the spacer/wheel. They just seem too tall for the job.

I see what you mean mate I think you have the wrong nuts.

I know how you feel as my new alloys came with the wrong nuts for the front wheels :thumbdown:

Any thoughts on how to fix Jaffa? I need the Spacers for brake upgrade. Only thought I have is take the nuts to a machine shop to take them down a bit.

So are yours like Garys and actually bolt up to the hub? Or do you have extended wheel bolts that go straight through the spacer and through the wheel with the nuts on the other side of the wheel holding them both to the car? The type I bought literally have 5 holes in them, came with extended wheel bolts/lugs, and just slide over the extended bolts/lugs, then the ordinary wheel nuts bolt the wheel up and the wheel sandwiches the spacer.

The ones I have are for sale btw, only problem is you'll have to buy 1 extended wheel lug, as one of them got mullered in the fitting process :(

Same as Garys mate, bolt the spacer to the hub then the wheel is bolted to the spacer. It's really frickin annoying.

I got on to the supplier and they said that those were the only nuts supplied with the kit and they will fit some wheels if the rebates on that back of the alloys are big enough!...hmmm. I am still trying to find the right size nuts to fit them. As a temporary measure I am using ordinary 5mm spacers which doesn't fill me with much confidence.

 

I think I may get directly in touch with Eibach and see what they say. In the meantime if anyone else comes across the slimmer nuts, please do post the details.

I looked on the Eibach website and they have a disclaimer saying about them not being compatible with some wheels. Think we are sh1t outta luck mate.

yeah that's only going to work if your wheels have recessed holes on the mounting face between the bolt holes, like this one..

Many wheels don't, I know the BBS wheels on my colt have a flat face and caused problems even with the drum retaining screw.

Mine have a recess mate, it's just not big enough for the nuts. If they were a max of 5mm shorter there wouldn't be a problem.

Take your bolts to AHC in camberley. They can get hold of ANY nut and bolt you can think of. Im sure they can produce a set with shallower heads

is it the Studs that are to long or the nuts touchinthe back of the wheel if its the studs then can you not put a 5mm spacers behind the spacer?? if it is the nuts get some 12x1.25 open end nuts (about a £1 each) if its both then 5mm spacer and open end nuts required?? Good Luck Chuck....
