Well i tucked away all my engine loom and instead of just patch fixing it i went hey i'll take the whole body loom that runs under the guards, shorten the heck out of it and bring it inside the car...

 

20 hours of work later i'm almost ready to shorten.

 

This seemed like a good idea in my head.

 

I cant wait to see some pics of these simplified plenums etc. I wasn't really bothered about engine bays until a few months ago when I polished my plenum up, now I want a clean bay too :thumbup:

 

Here's how mine looks currently, i'm yet to cut brackets and fill holes though, but this has all its wiring on it.

 

Well the old brackets got to me and i figured if i've got this far i may as well weld up unused bolt holes etc.

 

Derhaps due to a certain inspiring engine bay pic earlier in the thread.. :tongue_smilie:

 

Here is how she is right now, going to buy some filler tommorrow smooth it all up then get a lick of paint on there...

 

Still weighing up the new power steering resovoir placement :confused1:

might be able to help out on the pas pot placement. mine is under the nose panel.

here is a pic of where it is. i reused the bracket that was on the inner wing.

there should be just enough room under there and its above the level of the pump so all should be fine.

no it dosent. lol. you dont have any wires going to the temp sensors on the front of the engine;)

 

Lol in those pics they wern't run through, but they go under the plenum and duck in just behind the timing belt cover so they don't run along the front, i'm still trying to come up with a solution for the CAS wiring, not really much i can do with it...

 

Also other silly things to do that you gotta think about ie, the windscreen wiper wiring. and running that so it won't get water in it.

 

taken a bit of a break from the engine, finishing all the drive train off should be on her feet for good in about 3 days... then once the wiring is done i'm good to go, so close... 16 months now.... was meant to be an engine replacement....

 

somehow since then the car has got a new shell, drivetrain from the old car, tints, wheels, coilovers, susp arms, full kit, and end to end going over from a shell...

 

if anybody is contemplating this i think you're insane, but at this point getting so close, it still seems worth it.... i can see the finish line now, everything left to do i can count on my fingers. and just little jobs.

 

now i just need to find somebody to be my pedal pusher to bleed the brakes lol

Oh you've been thinking mate! where i have it up by the brake booster it bolts straight onto the existing holes there but its clutter...
