Hi Guys,

I need brake pads front and back. Seen some on ebay.. would they be OK and would they fit? Or should I go to a garage to purchase. Or Can anyone recommend where to purchase on line.

Then I will have a go at fitting myself. Never done breaks before but im sure it cant be that hard.

Cheers

Dave

You can buy Brembo or Mintex pads on Ebay for very little money at the mo - so that's what I'd do....

.....don't bother with the unknown cheapo brands though!

That is so true!! I remember having the redstuff pads fitted to my last 300zx.....

.....dead scarey when I needed to brake hard about 2 minutes into the first drive of the day. Never again......

I have just fitted some EBC yellow stuff and I'm fairly happy with them, had Ds2500 before but found them a bit tough on the disc's.

yea i guess it depend on what disks youv got aswell

blanks then any decent auto shop pads will do

drilled, grooved or driled and groved you need to be weary that the pads arnt to rough on the disks or vise versa

ADL ones are pretty good (ADN14236 if i recall correctly!)if you dont overwork them, S14 and some Imprezza pads also fit as they all use the same sumitomo caliper, and if i recall correctly you can fit 300 pads to a gto, buy gto ones wont fit a 300 as they need the trimmed edges to fit the 300 nbut not on the gto.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies.

I had a look on Ebay and I might go Mintex... they seem cheaper and I only have standard discs. I don't over speed so I don't need to stop instantly like a formula one driver.

Thanks again

Guys,

Just before I place my order only ebay. Does it matter that my car is an import? Will the brake pads fit? Is there a difference

I just replaced my discs and pads. standard discs from brakepartssuperstore.org and pads from local unipart place pads were 28 quidish and perform perfectly as do the discs which were only about 60quid for the pair! excellent service, super fast delivery and they do all the rebuild stuff for the calipers too. Only cheap cos it`s a drop shop not because bad quality items. Was most impressed.

I've got a mixture on mine, yellow stuff on the back and green stuff on the front, with drilled and grooved black diamond discs on the front and drilled EBC ones on the rear. Makes for a very good setup, the yellows work pretty well cold (the rears) and the greens work amazingly when hot (front) so I have not yet experienced any brake fade and it stops REALLY quickly. Roses Z has standard pads with standard Skyline discs (Slightly bigger, but not drilled or grooved) and I'm always that bit more nervous about stopping in her car than mine.

Pads and discs are teh same for all TT's Jap or UK spec. Just make sure they are Z32 ones, ie: late 89 onwards
