The plenum off my other engine is polished and powdercoated and to be fair it's a pretty good job (what is it they say about polishing a turd???anyway I digress...)

What I want to do is change the colour from the current silver powdercoat to a shade of blue similar to that of the SAMCO hoses

I was wondering if anybody could tell me, what would be the best course of action here?

does the plenum have to be sand blasted and then re-powdercoated blue or would a simple rub down and re-spray suffice?

thanks

you could scrub down respray with high temp paint but tbh for the quality and cost would prob be better to just blast and powdercoat

got mine done the same colour have a look at me rides! chap does my powdercoating sorts everything out dips it to remove all paint then a clean up all you got to do is pick the colour!

How much did he charge to do your plenum if you don't mind me asking bud?

i removed all the cast marks and smoothed off any bits i didnt want and made the covers to protect all the gasket surfaces and bolts to save the threads so after that £60 but would have to check with him coz that was couple years back.

£60 isn't too bad, though as you say that was a few years ago so has probably gone up

Still worth doing though
