LOL, yes ..

they have always reminded me of pickups ;)

i was thinking exactly along the pickup line too.

the one think i dont like about most wide arch kits is the flat section at the top of the arch, looks like a bit of an after thought to me and doesent quite fit.

i have been thinking about it for my shortie though at some point.

needs the right wheels to pull it off

as said, it's 60mm each side, sticks out about as much as the door mirror's, i always said if the door mirrors fit through then the ass will

i love your vert mate, but if it's an itch it must be scratched

I think you should do it Daz, keep you busy over winter.

Unless you finally go for the TT conversion - then do that instead.

Wow!!! is that all ?, I would have said 150mm each side, my mate thought I was mad!!! obviously I am , surprised me that

Put it this way it wont go through a standard garage door

no dont do it daz. Imo Fiberglass wide arched on a black car is a massive no no.

They will get a massive amount of heat. and will warp and buckel etc. It will look good for about a year then it will start to look tacky. you can also always tell a fiberglass panel to a metal one.

Here is an example and this is only a little pannel

And this Will happen

See what you mean mate, but my front bumper is fibreglass and that still looks mint, do i have to use a special type of paint?

no mate just normal car paint.

The zed bumper is a good shape for not going ripply for some reason, Ive seen some really bad wide arches that have started to belly. its because its such a large area and black,in summer they get bakeing hot and softens the fibers :(

errrm no. in the middle of summr. My zed was so hot you could hardly touch it. and my dads white car was stone cold

My spoiler was all soft etc and on the white car it was nice and solid :tt2:

The colour doesn't make a difference to the heat retention. The whole black obtains heat and white reflects. A total falacy.

yeh i hav to agree with dave its basic science this one, black absorbs heat white reflects it. thats why if you wear dark colours in a hot country you will bake pale colours will keep you cool. polar bears are infact black, well there skin is this helps draw in and retain heat, the fur itself is clear, so they appear white. anyways yeh black holds heat.

My wide kit has been on the car for six or seven years now, but is has not done that, its still as flat as the day it went on. also by boat is in the sun all summer on the lake and has not been effected. My be its the lamination thickness thats caused that problem.

I think you should sell it to me Daz, save you all that work:clap:

I love the wide arch kit but it has to be done well with the right colour and rest of the car to compliment, wheels, spoiler, skirts, lights etc etc, there are IMO some amazing looking wide arch Z's but I have seen several that just look a bit tacky. Daz, you have a lovely looking car already...boredom can be a dangerous thing! I swapped a slender one for a wide arse one once and was disapointed in the end...she was mad as well though !
