Right having spoken to a lot of you at JAE and heard the obvious concerns in relation to what other clubs had to offer, plus going around and seeing other club stands.

I think for next year ill be concentrating on getting a bit of entertainment going on.

I have a projector so thats not a problem, and also we have sound. but what i was thinking along the lines off was something a bit special.

My friend who i DJ with runs his own DJing business and gets hired out for all sorts of events. and if we can get the correct generator that doesnt induce spikes into the system id like to see about hiring him out on the saturday night. (though if i paid for his ticket im sure he might even do it for free or extremely discounted)

Would also like to throw out there group activities for us as well, like 5 aside football with a soft ball for obvious reasons, or even soft cricket lol especially if we have the same location next year that im hoping we can get, tug-o-war and on the friday night to encourage more people to get there on the friday and spend the weeekend, possible a few drinking games movie night, or something else.

hell we could even do the 3 legged race once drunk!, or even egg and spoon race / sack race anything like that.

So get your ideas down, as i said all will be looked at, some might be used, other might not be so don't be offended if your idea isn't used. it just might not be suitable at the event.

Even going to see about getting some of the JAE staff involved as well, show them that the 300zx.co.uk club isn't just about sitting in a marque talking about how shiny our polished gear knobs are lol

Just take no heed of this thread whatsoever folks - theres literally been 7 pages of posts hen picked out of it. Perfect design for imposing a point of view when all taken out of context.

Oh ok , so since youve decided the other plan was innapropriate... i take it THIS is how its actually going to be then?

ooooooh .... cosy camp fire at the boundary....

why bother???? this is a thread for getting jae better for us. so i post asking why the food has gone down hill and make a few comments about it. all trying to be constructive and help towards next year. nothing bad said and nothing out of place. then WHAM its all gone YET AGAIN. WHY????

The food has already been covered in the first part of the thread, no point in repeating it 80 posts later.

Food is on the agenda for improvement, variety, more of it.

Im not a burger lover, but i thought the burgers were nice, especially with the cajun spice on them.

lol. and better quality. lol

Hey Mikey, how much you been drinking? Groover mentioned improvement on the food mate.......lol.......:smartass:

Bearing in mind that they were frozen bulk bought sausages I thought they were pretty good, no complaints from my cooking anyway! :)

I never got chance to have a burger as they were all eaten (I suspect by mikey bean....!) :D

I think we should perhaps identify the key areas in which people feel improvement is required, put an individual thread up for each of those with strict instruction its for ideas only. Then vote on the best ideas/proposals and then discuss each one. A huge great thread like this often gets people confused, repeating the same things and getting the wrong end of the stick.

If we just want background music, I have a 1tb hard disc drive filled with music from the 50's 60's 70's 80's 90's 2000's, from Abba to ZZ top and everything inbetween. I can always bring a laptop and speakers, and everyone could use windows as a juke box, if that's of any use to you.

im the same as far as mp3 music goes, between us we would probably have every song ever written! (maybe not) but there would be more than enough to keep us happy :-) we would only need a small sound system as its not a full blown rave were going for :-)

i was loving the idea of some visuals, probrably something along the lines of gallery pics on a loop?

100% correct

Just a little bit of input/warning on the projector suggestion(if used) make sure it is switched of by the on/off switch on the projector to allow it to cool down in standby mode

Reason being some stupid sod (not me but one of the bands roadies thinking it was part of the bands setup) decided at Z-Fest last year to unplug the extension lead whilst it was still running at the main power point and it caused the projectors bulb to blow as it had not cooled down in the standby mode

Cost of replacement bulb £100 plus and no more projections over the rest of the weekend in the separate (blue) marque

Cool mate, love the visuals of gallery pics idea, would be awesome. Between us mate, we must have some music collection, must have a word and see what you have.:punk:

Right im going to close this thread, Having gone over the deleted bits, seems that it got derailed quite a bit.

First id like to address a few points raised.

Jasons zed in the marquee.

As said before that people cant seem to get in there head, Jason had his zed in the marquee from 6pm on the friday to 1pm the next day, it did not have preferential treatment, Artztogos car was in there a lot longer than that getting its rear lights sorted out, id also like to point out, that Jason was well aware of the possibility of fumes and as such didn't have it running that long, mainly to bring it in, take it out and a small 10mins trying to get his stereo working.

Access wasn't a problem there was a significant gap big enough to get not only my sons push chair through but also a wheel chair.

Jason has been bring his zed to JAE and parking with us for a long time, im doing the organizing and i liked offering him the marquee again this year to prep his car for the show and shine. im not going to change that. the only thing im going to improve upon next year is seeing if we can get double entrance so wheel chair access to the marquee isn't a problem, that is the biggest concern i can see from that and im not changing my mind on it.

If Jason wishes to bring his own gazebo to put it in thats up to him, if he wishes to purchase a gazebo and wants me to bring it with me with the club stuff, hes more than welcome too. no one last year had a problem with it being in the marquee and just because someone did this year, its not changing anything. there is no preferential treatment, its called a "nice gesture" from me.

Next up, Cheap food.

The food was not cheap, only one person i see so far has complained about the food quality, considering the burgers were all gone by the Sunday, if its good enough for people to eat all the burgers with only one complaint about quality, then that speaks for its self to be quite honest, the biggest concern about food was variety

The BBQ was available for anyone who wanted to cook there own food on, the 300zx.co.uk club didn't state that we would be feeding you all over the weekend, it said there would be a BBQ available for subscribed members. the fact that non subscribed members also got fed, and a few people who are nothing to do with our club, just shows that we did cater for everyone. the main topics of food improvement were variety as already stated, this has also been taken into account and will be addressed next year.

Music.

I had my car stereo running. admittedly my choice of music isn't to everyone's tastes, but we had plenty of sound systems available, not once did i get asked if someone could put a different CD / MP3, or even ask if i could wire up their phone to give a more varied style of sounds. my system can handle anything thrown at it as its a PC. But again, I've listened to whats been said and im taking it on board for next year.

Organization.

Having read the deleted posts, seems that some people liked to point to the fact it wasn't very well organised, id like to address this issue right now. i find comments like that to be rather ungrateful, i do not get paid for the organization, plus this was the first time Ive organised JAE for the club i think i did fecking well considering everything Ive had to deal with as well, when people turned up, the chairs were laid out, the tables were also, food was available, coffee and tea was available and water was available, the only help i had was from groover / ck300z and jaikai and only then it was AT JAE not before.

The only thing i can see that didn't go according to plan was the awards, i spent a lot of my time making sure food was available, that we had gas for the BBQ, and that people were generally being made welcome when they arrived, on the odd occasion where i didn't meet the people turning up, it was because i was off to get more Genny fuel / food / tescos run for people, Tables and chairs are supplied by JAE, so im sorry if you didn't have a comfy leather sofa to sit on, but hay its camping, not a 5 star hotel.

Club funds,

this has been covered many times over, and this thread was not for it end off.

Closing note.

Us mods do this out of our own backs, we don't get paid, we are here to make sure people stick to the club rules, sometimes people cross them and we need to take action, for some this seems like a direct personal attack when its not, its also no one else's business about why people get banned when its to do with the person getting banned and the people banning, we do not have to give explanations especially on events that happened in the past before most of us became mods.

As for the "loads of people who are not sure to comment" *****cks we are actually a bit more relaxed about a lot of things. we don't have a "ban" culture going on, as to be honest if we did, we would just ban when we liked. we give people the chance to see that they could end up with a ban, but if they continue to push the boundaries then fine, we will issue it.

if there is something you don't like, then go through the proper channels, this can include PM'ing a member of the committee, to Emailing if you do no have that function, and it will be looked into, if it can be changed it will, at no time do we ban for the hell of it, banning is seen as a last resort to keep the status quo of the forum.

I put this thread up to generate a nice base from what I could look at to see what I could do for our members next year, not to start whinging and moaning about another members zed being parked in a bloody marquee for less than a day.

this year for me was a good time to see where i could improve things for next year. as i said it was my first time organizing this for our members, so cut me some slack, would of thought we would of been grown up enough to understand that considering, hell apart form a small 2 hours where i took my Mrs and my son to go see the other cars, i spent the rest running around for everyone making sure everyone was at least feeling welcome, food was available and we had petrol for the genny, and yes i paid for my own ticket and my misses so i could make you lot feel welcome.

Regards.

Vodkashots.

EDIT, would just like to add, i wanted to see how i would do at organizing this for us, next year im hoping to get us into more shows, but thats only going to work if we have people willing to show up.

would also like to thank everyone i meet at JAE for there valuable input, as i said its all being taken into account so i can improve things for next year.
