Right having spoken to a lot of you at JAE and heard the obvious concerns in relation to what other clubs had to offer, plus going around and seeing other club stands.

I think for next year ill be concentrating on getting a bit of entertainment going on.

I have a projector so thats not a problem, and also we have sound. but what i was thinking along the lines off was something a bit special.

My friend who i DJ with runs his own DJing business and gets hired out for all sorts of events. and if we can get the correct generator that doesnt induce spikes into the system id like to see about hiring him out on the saturday night. (though if i paid for his ticket im sure he might even do it for free or extremely discounted)

Would also like to throw out there group activities for us as well, like 5 aside football with a soft ball for obvious reasons, or even soft cricket lol especially if we have the same location next year that im hoping we can get, tug-o-war and on the friday night to encourage more people to get there on the friday and spend the weeekend, possible a few drinking games movie night, or something else.

hell we could even do the 3 legged race once drunk!, or even egg and spoon race / sack race anything like that.

So get your ideas down, as i said all will be looked at, some might be used, other might not be so don't be offended if your idea isn't used. it just might not be suitable at the event.

Even going to see about getting some of the JAE staff involved as well, show them that the 300zx.co.uk club isn't just about sitting in a marque talking about how shiny our polished gear knobs are lol

We need a bar area... with a massive bar with cocktails and shedloads of spirits, beers, lager, ciders mixers and shots. Compulsory drinking for anyone of the appropriate age (sorry Ian jnr... but as mentioned once or twice, i am a youth worker) A dance floor and poles and strippers.. male and female to keep everyone happy... (i'm talking about you here brokeback) we need LOTS of asperine and alka-seltza......

Oh yeah.... and a sodding kettle that fudging works...

To start with would just like to put a few things straight.

The beast gets the marquee as it has for the past god knows how long, its not being singled out as better than anyone else's, its parked there as Jason is kind enough to represent the club with his 300zx show car so we give him access to a place to keep the elements off it before it goes in for the shows, and also so he gets a chance to polish it up with out rain or wind or bird poop. im sorry but im not changing that aspect, if another zed was to enter for show purposes then it would be looked at again. but as no one else puts there zed through that much for shows then i cant see why it should change, its won car of the show 3 years in a row, its helped put the 300zx on the map for modified cars and its the least we can do.

gaming.

Im leaning more towards a wii rather than xbox or ps3, mainly due to the Wii's far superior team play capabilities. IE the sports games. PS3 and xbox360 are orientated more for online play rather than party modes (im not saying they don't have party type games, im saying the wii has the better selection)

The marquee is laid out according to jae so unfortunately couldn't be changed, we could of had the tents up by the road, but then we would of been woken every time a car with a loud exhaust went past, also not really good for those of us who had children there.

Tent layout was also restricted to where the marquee was placed, but to be honest i didn't see a problem with it. yes we had a marquee between us, but the tents are there for sleeping, the marquee for sitting around having a chat.

The marquee being open at both ends, again as this is set up by JAE, im not even sure we could of opened one of the other ends. by the looks of it, it didn't, me and groover did go around it to see if we could attach the club flags to it, but only one end opened from what we could tell.

Exhaust fumes, is quite and easy one, just need a few tumble dryer pipes or something like that to go over the beasts exhaust and vent them out side the marque, or just only start it up to either enter or exit with it.

I like the idea of a bar, and this could of been arranged as we had plenty of table space

DJ, ive seen a lot of comments regarding "raves" and such, my friend caters for all sorts from kids to posh weddings, and does take requests. a laptop might be good, but a DJ with lazers and lights can be a hole lot better even if it is just for one night, it brings us something unique to our stand and would be available for other car clubs if they want to join us, it also doesnt have to be that loud you cant hear each other speak, either way everyone seems to have such varied music tastes, i don't think its going to matter if its a DJ or a laptop, there is always going to be music played that someone doesnt like, but the bonus of the DJ is the equipment he can add, the lighting.

The pedobear conversion, i can not comment on as i was in bed asleep by that point, but had i been awake i most likely would of said something if i found it bordering on the offencive, im all for a laugh, but some subjects should be handled with a little bit of caution, but then you would of had to of heard the whole thing before jumping to conclusions as half conversations can be taken out of context.

BBQ, the burgers went down well, sausages not so well, so will get some more burgers next year, less sausages and something else to also throw on the BBQ to get more of a variety, but please be aware the BBQ is there not to feed people all weekend, but as a club bonus for subscribed members, members are advised to also bring other food for them selves.

Parking arrangements, it was nice to be different from the rest of the stands at JAE with their car park approach, the horse shoe set up worked very well this year, and gave those who were coming into the event from other carclubs a nice aesthetically pleasing look at the 300zx's, we had a grid system last year that was ok, but you couldn't really see the cars at the back of the grid, we also had all the tents in one location last year and to be honest i didnt see a difference to how people went about doing things from last year to this year just because the tents were laid out together instead of one lot one side, one lot the other side like this year.

Areas im looking for ideas in improvements are

Entertainment, though we have covered a lot of this, would be good to see about other things rather than just gaming on a xbox / 360 / wii as this does limit the amount of people who are participating at any given time, im looking for ideas for all of us to get involved with at the same time.

Food, speaks for its self here lol

award categories

things to generally do as a club rather than as a select few individuals.

Agree with you 100% not knocking Jason or his car at all (although its a little over done for me) I was more thinking about the amount of money he has spent and if there is any chance it could get damaged in there maybe we could organise something else for it so its in no danger of being scratched etc. I say fair play to Jason his car is a real credit to him and the club, Keep up the good work fella.

Actually, a gazebo or two on the side would make the stand look more impressive! They are really cheap and handy if it rains instead of everyone disappearing in the main tent!!

Why not have a car detailed by someone like Peach??

We can use the marquee or a gazebo if needed - up to the detailer.

I would be fascinated to see this done and it may result in some business for the detailer.

May be able to get a show sponsor to throw in some detailing products???

Where you at Peachey???? :thumbup::thumbup:

Not that i was there, but always thought JAE being the biggest, then if EVERY zed from here had a clip on number plate for the front with the persons username on it, then you'd know who's car you were looking at and who's who!

With the JAE logo on one side and the Forum Logo the other, it also helps promote the club.

My number plate kind of gives me away being a 666 number plate.......lol.......but great idea bud.......:punk:

I pesonally have no objection to Jason being allowed to put the Beast in the marque, however, the ground was uneven and slanting, I was really worried squeezing past it in my wheelchair, both on the way in and on the way out, I would hate to do any damage to anyone's car/cars, I would feel so bad about it if I did, so maybe a seperate gazebo for Jason's car would be a good thing to stop my wide ass vehicle doing any damage......lol. Sorry Vods this isn't really an improvement idea, but is a sensible one.

I think we can arrange with the marquee company to place 2 openings so not an issue really and i think it would be nice to have some windows along both sides, like some of the marquees on the site.

JAE award idea:

Since Jason wins certain awards every year, I think we should create some new additional awards, so that Jason still gets his trophies, but others have a chance of winning something, rather than being runner up, so:

Best bodykit, that isn't Jasons Beast

Best sound system, that isn't Jasons Beast

Most desirable Z, that isn't Jasons Beast

you get the idea?

We used to have awards that typically ended up with one or two people winning pretty much everything, so we have changed the categories a little that would give a wider range of people the opportunity to excel in different areas, and also to add a light-hearted side to it as well. All suggestions for a diversity of awards for next year are gratefully accepted.

See post number 67!!!! That solves the problem and still lets every one compete including Jason and the Beast!

I felt a lot of the voting points were factual when they should have been about opinion. For example I won a prize for the lowest Z which I didn't feel was an achievement it was just a fact. (Now I sound ungrateful!!)

Yep I can see that working, cheers Groover.

There was no preferential treatment just a willingness to help each other as best we could. But next year I hope we will be giving preferential treatment to one member as the only club there with a disabled driver I hope JAE take this in and give better facilites for him and as a club we will be asking for it.

Wow, cheers Gary, didn't think anyone had noticed just how hard it was for a wheelchair user to get around the site. There is no way on this earth that I could have got to the "accessible" toilets or around the show without help, and I have used a wheelchair permenantly for over 11 years now, I have already thanked Chris (ck300z) and his friend Dave for without their help I would not have been able to go to the toilet. But my biggest thanks goes to Ian Jnr, as without him and all the help he gives me I would not be able to attend these car shows at all.

I have just mentioned in another thread that next year I will transfer into a chair/another wheelchair, and there will be a prize for anyone who makes it to the accessible toilets and back under their own steam without help. I will supply the prizes for the ones that do it......lol.

Disability access was a joke on the camp site so lets hope we can make it easier for you next time Ian:thumbup1:

nah, thats easy, i've seen chunk do it, you just need to strap enough fire extinguishers to the chair :)

Very true Ian, but I find copios amounts of beans have the same effect.

Well Im DEFFO coming next year so if Vods wants any help im always about.

When I attended JAE last year it seemed a bit daft that we all had to individually vote for the "most stock zed", "highest mileage", "lowest mileage" etc. If we are having those factual categories then 1 or 2 nominated people should judge those leaving the opinion based awards e.g. "best bodykit" or "best interior" etc to the rest of us for the vote.

Bingo!!! Did you see post number 67??

Bingo!!! Did you see post number 67??

I suggested it last year as well. Nobody listens to me

I thought I would finally comment on this thread.

I think the main thing that was missing this year was music. More or less all of the other tents had music and had more of a party atmosphere. They also had games and things. We use to have that sort of thing a few years back.

I appreciate the comments about jasons car but to be honest for the last few years the beast has provided the music and entertainment for everyone. I do think it would be good to get better access though. Maybe a gazebo the opens in the middle then jason can move the beast to the side (hope that makes sense). Anyway, I've told him the only reason he won this year was because my car wasn't there. Next year he may have no chance haha.

I have to say though I had a good time with everyone. Just think we could liven it up a little bit and play games etc... Even if it's just a beer pong tournament lol. Perhaps we should get involved with the activities that jar put on too like the racing, football and tug of war etc.

The swapping parts thing is a cannY idea but unless an agreement has already taken place it's probably unrealistic for people to get loads of stuff in their cars. Maybe if people wanted to sell stuff or have stuff they could sell then bring it with them.

I would like to say a big thanks to everyone there as we had a nice time. Also thanks to those organising everything for us to enjoy.

I think this is a valid point, we all need to take a bit of responsibility.
