US steering rack - would ratio difference be noticable?

?

If a US steering rack was fitted to a UK/JPN Z would the ratio difference give you a "quick-rack" effect?

I think its 2.7 turns lock to lock on the US Z's confused.gif

Also would it mess up the HICAS settings?

Cheers,

not sure if this is of any help, but I own a US-spec Zed and I have driven several EURO-spec Zeds, but I never noticed any difference in steering...

Also I don't think you could use a (LHD) US steering rack in a RHD Zed.

I'm lead to believe it's 2.5 turns lock-to-lock on a US car and 2.7 on others ( http://www.300zx.org.uk/correction.htm ). Not gonna make much difference and like Eric said a LHD rack may not fit a RHD car as I suspect they are handed.
