got me Brembo's think originally off R33, but once i started to clean them up came across some problems so thought ask all the questions before i go any further.

1. As you can see from the pics the dust seals are cracked/split so where can i get a seal kit to service them and is there a how to so i can do it myself?

2. The front brake disc's look pretty shot and i think i read the minimum thickness for changing them is 28mm both are around 24.46mm! so i need a pair of fronts which i think are 324x30x54? the rears are around 20.73mm dont know what they should be!

They bolted straight off a Z without any adaptors so pretty straight forward to put back on, i am going to paint them and from reading old posts Hammerite does the job and with some decals should be good as new.

phoned http://www.biggred.co.uk/today but they dont touch Brembo brakes anymore too much trouble!:( what they will do is coat them if i strip the calipers down and send them off and also if i send my old seals ect they will try and match them up! what a complete pain in the arse these are turning into!:cursing: does anyone have some info about how to strip down these Brembo Brakes?

I do recall someone on here doing this before mate, pics and details were in his post.

Seach each section of the forum Brembo brakes and you should find it, i think it was about 2 years ago.

thanks will have a look.:pint:

Look on camskill, under subaru STI caliper or mitsi evo 5>9 caliper rebuild kits. When I looked at this (decided it was more trouble than its worth!) it was difficult and expensive to buy brembo rebuild kits.

thanks will give them a ring and see what they say, looks like to get a rebuild kit for both front's and rear Brembo's sent from U.S.A. is around £60 delivered! i can live with that unless somewhere else does them.

Hi Dan

Trying to stop annoying brake squeal (medium braking pressure - soft & hard braking no squeal). I use Porterfield R4-S pads.

I have Brembo R33 fronts but they never came with any pad shims.

I noticed in the diagram you posted that it didn't have any shims for the fronts.

Just wondered if you had any front shims when you bought them?

Have these to try :

no didnt have any shims for the fronts or rears and as you say the R33manual doesnt show shims on the fronts, thanks for the link may try them if copper grease doesnt work.
