Each day i get home i have at least 3 or 4 answer phone messages, sometimes even 5, from different company's, stating "we are glad to let you be aware that you are entitled to compensation following your recent accident" or "regarding your payment protection insurance bo**cks", press 5 to be conected to an advisor or press 9 to opt out.

I press 9, then it gives the disconnected sound, so i would think ive been removed!!! Happy ...........NOT!!!!!!!

Next day same sh**, different company's,

But tonight i lost it. Phone rang, and after listening to the drivvle on the recorded message, i press 5 "to be connected to an advisor"

Poor jenny answered, and after a torrent of abuse about that i havent had a poxy accident, she stated i was definitely removed from the call back list.

So go to the fridge to get a calming can of stella, of the phone goes.

This time its a guy called depak!! About my payment protection on a credit card.

FFS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

More abuse and words that cannot be repeated on here, again, now of the list

I ring sky to say i signed up and wanted ex directory. Yep i am, ex directory, but let me put you through to someone who can deal with your problem.

Get connected to some girl called sally, "hello i understand your having a few problems"............. then the call gets disconnected.............

One more and thats it..........................:tank::tank:

Sometimes thats what it takes, sorry to hear you've had so many problems! :2guns:

On another note, I saw a compensation company's car earlier, number plate was FE11 YOU which I thought was pretty funny.

Lol,

I can see both sides to these call centres that phone you as I myself work and control a

dialler system for a call centre.

Most call centres are outsourcers who work for other companies on there behalf, like ours

who do outsource work for Scottish Power and even BT.

Now the problem is if more than one centre is working for that company then if you ask

them to remove your number it might take a while to filter the request to all the other

call centres but most will say they will remove your number from there personal dialing

lists.

These calls are nothing but a pain in the a$$ and they always seem to know when you're making/having dinner or in the middle of something. Jaikai, do us all a favour and pull all the cables out :D

I found tps was good when I was with bt but not so good when I switched to sky and it doesn't stop foreign call centres ringing. And why are they always called David ??

LOL - I've noticed that too! You get a call from someone out in India; who speaks with an obvious accent and says "Good evening, I am Mike/David/John from XYZ ltd....."

I just reply "no, you're not really are you....?"

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I tell them I'm not the person they ask for but I'll go get him. I put the phone down and carry on with what I was doing before they interrupted. Some of them hang on for quite a while!

TPS is a good stop, I've used it for years, still get the odd call though.

A quick mention to be removed from DB as I'm on the TPS usually works.

Thats when I CBA to answer, as I have caller display, if i'm not expecting a call from an unknown number I don't answer if I don't recognize it, same goes for the mobile also on TPS :)

I like this answer the most.
