I went for a drive this afternoon, driving into Rugby with roadworks, lights went green off i went when i saw a sign saying RAMP AHEAD, so with my front end being low I slowed down so i would not do any damage, before i knew what happened a **** in a company car rams me up the ass,

Damage to rear quarter, exhaust and rear bumper,

I spent most of my working life with bodywork, so it has not done any chassis damage,,,, PORTA POWER , will jack it back into shape,

Its just a question now of convinsing the insurers not to write it off

On the back of that the main reason for increased insurance cost are the increased claims costs. A lot of people choose to go through these claims management companies, this cost insurers more than when they use their own people, then claims these days have an extra 1 or 2 grand on top for whiplash claims because everyone automatically puts that claim in. Insurance premium tax went up over the last year too. The other main contibutary fact is that everyone wants compensation for even the smallest things these days like policy docs taking an extra day... This sort of behaviour pi$$es me off.

As you can probably tell I work in insurance.

Yup agreed. If people used insurance for the purpose its actually meant for i.e. to get you back in the position you were before the damages occured (as far as money can do in some cases) instead of the "THESE B,,,,,DS ARE GONNA PAY" attitude we would all be a lot better off and I would be able to insure my zed for a reasonable amount of money instead of £1500 more than what its worth (per year!!!)

I have been driving since i was 17 years old and have never had an accident, and now am 65, I take great pride in my motors, having had my Zed for 5years and spending a lot of time and care and hard earned money, the last thing i want to hear from an insurance company is the standard copout 'IT'S A RIGHT OFF' purely because it's an old car and a lot of garages wouldnt have a clue as to what to do to fix it - how many Nissan dealerships ask when they see a 300zx 'What's that? never seen one of them before'

Yes the B*****ds are going to pay -they're going to pay to make sure it's back on the road again in all it's former glory.

And as i have a Doctor's appointment and an appointment with my cardiac nurse this week you can bet damn sure im going to get checked out for whiplash and everything else, im bloody lucky the shock didnt give me another heart attack

Agreed bud! Hope I didn't offend you :flowers: - as I said in my first post I'm sorry to hear about the accident and I'm sure you won't exaggerate your claim. Some of the other replies whilst meant in good spirits to lighten the mood may have sparked thoughts that come from my experience of people I know that have exaggerated claims but as said - I know that won't happen with yours.

Good luck getting her back to top condition mate.

James

Sorry To hear that..... Yours is one of the best Zeds and I'll never forget meeting you at the meet on the A45 before I got mine

Still, look on the brightside, They have admitted full liability so it's down to them

New back bumper, New rear wing of your choice New rear lights of your choice etc etc

Go for it ....and all the best

Guy,s

I have just had a phone call from the guilty party,s insurers ADMIRAL, they have admitted full responsibility,

They offered me a Nissan 1.0 litre courtesy car,,,,, I said your havin a laugh, I drive a 180mph car,,,, RESULT, sorry MR CLARKE, would you accept a BMW M3 ?, I said i will think about it,,, YESSS result lol

The next question was about whip lash, lol, WOULD YOU ACCEPT A ONE OFF PAYMENT WITHOUT KNOW QUESTIONS ASKED ?/// UMMM ... yes,,,, A GRAND, OK NO PROBS.

So, the morale of the story,,,, DON,T ASK DO NOT GET

Cheerz

Chris.

When I was hit sitting at traffic lights I jumped out of the car and felt fine but the next morning my neck was very sore and stiff as it takes 24 hours for it to affect you so be prepared for a few pains tomorrow morning. Also I was offered £2000 for me and also £2000 for my son who was with me as a one of payment for whip lash to be payed out inside 4 weeks which we accepted.

Cheerz Tony,

The joke of it is I already have a Stillen new rear bumper and a led rear light conversion to go on, as regards to the new wing, unavailable from Nissan, but is repairable,,,,, ummmm i feel a wide arch conversion coming on lol

Cheerz buddy

Chris

Sorry to hear that Chris - not what you needed right now, but I sincerely hope you get it sorted.

With luck he will admit liability and his company insurance should settle up quickly.

Richard:sad:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Same thing with whiplash. I got nerfed by a ford ka last year. Very little damage to my celica and I bounced out of my car fine but the next morning I was really sore n couldn't move my neck. Took weeks to get better and a couple of months to sort completely.

Thats lifting 8 pints of lager a night Alan, has nothing to do wiv car accidents

You could be right lol

Awww no mate,

Thats bloody terrible. I cannot imagine how pissed off I would be. You put all your time and effort into something then one act of stupidiity by someone else erases your hard work in a matter of milliseconds :censored:

I hope they don't write it off - but if the insurance company have a good understanding of the mods and value of your car, then it shouldn't be hard to convince them it can be repaired economically.

Good luck getting it sorted and if you can manage to get a wide arch kit out of it, then good on ya - that's your real compensation!

How did you get on bud with the whiplash checkout

Hope it was not bad news as not sure how you stand on claiming more for it as you have already agreed a sum with the insurers prior to being diagnosed prior to finding out how serious it is
