LOL. Anymore of your cheek and i'll let down your 'chair tyres!! :wheelchair::smartass:

How are you and Junior buddy?

its not about tyre size its about weight of the car, so as your not changing the weight, you should be putting what ever your pressure settings on the car are, is what you should be putting in the tyre.

It's going in for some minor paintwork this week, and all being well it'll be a manual in a month or so

Can't see me wanting to sell it then!!

As above guys. I'm on 18's if it makes a difference. :yinyang:

It should say on the tire. :p

I never thought of that tbh. Is the same tyre pressure relevant to any car the tyres are fitted too then? I thought like Vods pointed out, it'd be weight specific? :confused1:

isnt the pressure on the tyre the maximum pressure, ie the pressure needed for the maximum weight the tyre can hold?

there fore you need to do some maths involving the presure writen on the tyre, the maximum weight on th etyre and the weight of the car divided by 4 (or more specifically the weight on the apropriate axle divided by 2)

i'm sure Jeff did a how to about this some time back

in my head i'm sure the profile of the tyre will affect the presure required as well, but i might be wrong . ie a low profile tyre requires different presure to support the same weight as a high profile tyre ?????????

I usually keep it at -5 of what it says on the tire. I think BP garages have a default of 28.

Thanks guys, you're a star Ian. That's kind of why i posted wheel size, should have been profile. Out of interest Ian what pressures do you use in your Slicky?

whatever the label in the centre console lid of my vert said, think it was 32 but would need to check

i think theyre too hard but have been woried about going lower as i still cant work out which way (if any) low profiles affect pressure

[sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Fronts 32-34 psi

Rear 34-36 psi

Anything in the above range will suit, and calculating the pressure with tyre details and vehicle mass will also put you in the abvoe range.

The exact "optimum" Pressure will vary with load, driving style and conditions, tyre brand and personal preference.

I hope nobody ever inflates to the pressure shown on the side of the tyre wall !!!! - This is the Max rating per load rating and pressure should be knowhere near this number.

Thanks Daffy.......Oh sorry, wrong Ian......

I did all mine earlier, cant remember the last time I did
