Hi Guys,

I have owned my Z32 since October last year, It has always suffered with erratic revs when idling.

I had to have the cam-belt done about 3 months ago.

Since then it feels really sluggish when I pull off and doesn't give the same acceleration it did before I had it done, it also sometimes feels it is going to cut out if I don't give it more revs, I have been told it is likely a sensor or the wiring connections are bad as the guy that did the cam belt said the connections were really rusty...

Any ideas please, i was hoping to have a look over it at the weekend but I don't have a clue where to start? Before I got the cam-belt done I spent a stack getting all the body work sorted out so I am kinda pissed at the moment, At a last resort i will book it in at Zedworld but would love to find an answer to the problem myself, maybe if there is some kind of check-list i can run through...?

Any help would be much appreciate, For your info its a Z32, N/A, 1992.

Thanks

Ryan

Thanks for the quick reply..I have had 2 mechanics look at it and they both say it is aligned properly, Runs great on the bypass/motorway but the acceleration is terrible until it picks revs up... just seems to stutter when putting my foot down from standing.

Taking it to Jeff at zedworld will be good for your peace of mind, he will stick it on consult, which will show any problems with the timing etc.

The first thing to check is the temp sensor on the rad intake pipe, you have one to the ecu and one for the gauge, usually green corrosion on the terminals will affect the running. Its worth checking all the connectors and clean, i usually use some electrical grease ( dielectric) in the terminals of the plug and socket, which will keep out moisture and help prevent future corrosion build up.

Check out these links which will help.

That ain't no 10 minute job mate, and tbh is very common to be a tooth out when done by someone who isn't that experienced in doing them.

Your pretty close to Coleshill, just get it over there and be sorted and checked over alls good.
