Ey oop everybody. I'm pretty close to taking the plunge and burning a hole in my pocket on a 300zx.

I'm pretty much set on a 300zx after taking one for a test drive this afternoon. Was an import auto twin turbo. Seemed to go pretty well and the last owner who is a middle aged woman has owned it since import.

Needs some TLC but could scrub up well with some elbow grease.

 

Being new to the land of Zed I wondered if anyone knows of a specialist or at least a garage with some experience working on the z32 300zx around the Brighton area???:donatello:

The reason I ask about garageis hopefully not because I'll be spending all my time there ;) But mearly because I'd like to get the timing belt/water pump changed at a reasonable cost.

Welcome to the forum. I'm not sure about garages down your way, I think Abbey Motorsport isn't far from you, they mostly do skylines, but they do tune other Nissans as well, I'm also sure I've seen them do timing belts etc, not just tuning.

 

If you can get up Bristol/Birmingham sort of way I think ZedWorld is somewhere there, although I haven't yet visited those hallowed grounds.

Zedworld is the Main Z service specialist in the UK. People travel all over the UK to visit them.

 

Zedworld is in Tamworth, north-east of Birmingham, towards Leicester/Nottingham.

 

There are some smaller companies that have experience in the 300zx though, Im sure people local to your area will be able to reccomend somewhere closer.

tamworth indeed lol, i took mine there twice from wrexham, well worht the trip tbh. i took it there when i first got it for them to give it a really good check over and give me a list of things to work on. they know what to look for if anyone does lol! think that only set me back £50 ish and they stuck her on conzult too :-) then i took her back to get the cambelt done, and they do you a printout with photos of the swapped parts (great for when / if you sell on). but even better than that, is that there a really great bunch there! ive never been to a more friendly garage!!!

welcome mate, im not far from you just along the coast, i cant help re the cam belt as ive never done one on a zed, better off being done properly by zedworld, but apart from that im willing to help on other stuff, i have a good knowledge of most common problems that you may come up against, and dont mind losing a bit of knuckle skin and getting stuck in.
