Best place to pick up power for new gauges

Trying to get my car back up and runing asap as theres a more then strong chance im going to have to sell her, Ive currently got the dash out and run the wiring for the new guages into the engine bay but need to pick up a good ignition and wiring into the dimmer switch? Anyone got any clue where a good pick up point for both of these is please?

Yes - I have seen Graham post it many times, but I don't know which is which, you will have to trial and error it.

Works on early series clocks, my series 4 are a touch higher up and to the left a smidging :cool3:

Hi Craig, as you look at the dash the positive feed is the left screw, ground right screw. You will be able to dim the gauges when wired to those 2 terminals. You can take a feed from your stereo supply for the live of the gauges.

From the stereo Graham do you mean perm live or ignition?

Ign mate, you dont want them on all the time, you only want them on when you turn the key.

You only need a permanent live feed for something that requires to hold a memory, like the digital clock, the feed at the bottom of the dash clocks, is only live when you turn on the lights, so by taking the red ign/acc wire from the stereo to the new dials, you will get power to them (readout) when the key is turned to acc.
