Hi Guys,

 

I was wondering whether its possible to modify the gear stick on an Auto.

 

Is there a kit you can buy or is it lots of work and do it yourself. I dont like the standard gear stick in my TT.

 

1. Its too high up.

2. I want it the same height as the centre are rest/console.

 

Can it be done? Does anyone know how or where I can go to get it done.

There are a few auto gearshift replacements. Razo comes to mind as one of them.

Thats low enough. Don't want to purchase a new car though just the gear shifter. Anyone know what shifter that is?

 

The reason I want it low, I own a Jaguar Sovereign and the shifter is low same height as the centre console and its so easy and comfortable. So thought that would be nice in the 300zx.

 

I cant see any side button there though? The safety button you press in when changing gear?

I think that's just a manual knob with the overdrive switch relocated (the red button next to the knob)

you could bypass that safety button i suppose, should you want to, can't see you being able to incorporate it into the knob, although anything is possible...

i wouldnt, bearing in mind the nature of these cars its a right pita if you get stuick some place in park and cant move it into neutral to tow it or whatever because you cant get power the car.
