Hicas light

For the technical minded folk out there remind me the reasons that the hicas light comes on while driving? Checked oil level and is fine. Plus this is on a 95+ zed with electric rear hicas

Do you have an Aftermarket steering wheel ?

If so, is it :

a. Fitted with a Hicas compatible boss *

b. Centred straight on **

*Most bosses out there are not Hicas compatible - and usually listed for the 300zx NA and 200sx

**The Hicas will throw an error if the wheel is not centrered, and your driving in a straight line for a mile or so - as it thinks your making a constant turn - whichobviously you cant be - so it errors and shutsdown.

have a check of the plug and wiring on the top of the PS fluid resovouir, mine does it too, but a bit of a tap and waggle of the plug makes it go out, just another thing i keep meaning to get round to fixing :)
