Well thats cleared that up!

Who generated that data? Hitch hiker's guide to the galaxy?

"Well how many zeds are there in the universe..?"

"You're not going to like this..."

Them figures knock a hole in the popular "For Sale" advertising claim "300ZX with the rare manual gearbox l" lol

think they include both Z31s and Z32s

would assume they are somehow taken from the dvla data base

remember a post long ago by Gio trying to get some sort of split between the 32 and 31

what is even more frightening to me is according to their figures there are only 72 280ZXs left

132 240Zs

47 260Z

18 260Z 2+2

hope my old one is still out there :scared:

Well first off, I'm positive there are more 300ZX TT Manuals left than 63, second, mine is both insured and registered as a 300ZX Turbo Manual for some reason, but it definitely has 2 turbos, I counted them!

that can't be right can it? Only 840 Z31s and Z32s left in the UK? Sheesh perhaps they're rarer than I thought.

@HollowPoint - add about 200 manual conversions that haven't been declared on the logbook! :D

AHEM! :D Sometimes, it depends on what my fingers are doing.

mine was the same, the bloke tried telling me if it had 2 turbos it had been modified! he didnt have a clue

Was there a 300ZX with just one turbo as standard? Never heard of one.

lol, do we want to know????:lol::lol::wink:

yeah all the Z31s were single turbo. ours were either both or neither.

not sure but I think the Z31 had one turbo. (probably wrong tho' lol)

Bugger, I'm sure I posted this first

The problem with the DVLA figures is they are wrong! The only way to get it right is to look at the Chassis number and decode from that. I once nearly got them to do a run on that basis for the club but they stopped replying and I had to get on and earn a living! If anyone can persuade them to filter, the relevant chassis nos are here: http://www.300zxtt.co.uk/bandbchassisnos.htm

The figs on the page given at the top of the thread don't include Fairlady but if you go to the DVLA page referenced on the How Many Left site, you can get the raw data (sadly no chassis nos) from which you can filter as

Q4 2010 Licensed

NISSAN 300 ZX TURBO 251

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 AUTO 53

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 215

NISSAN 300 ZX TURBO AUTO 106

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 TURBO 49

NISSAN FAIRLADY TURBO 92

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 TURBO AUTO

And not forgetting SORN

NISSAN 300 ZX TURBO 257

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 214

NISSAN 300 ZX TURBO AUTO 112

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 AUTO 94

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 TURBO 73

NISSAN FAIRLADY TURBO 34

NISSAN 300 ZX 2+2 TURBO AUTO 1

Licensed = 766, SORNed = 785

And I guess that means I've got 0.26% of all the licensed 300ZX/Fairladies on the road, would anyone like 0.13% in Blue?

(And don't forget that Fairlady applied to all JDM Zeds not just Z32s)

Mine would be in the SORN category until next week, mines English, manual and a 2+2 TWIN Turbo :D

The information is about as accurate as asking my Nan , and she does'nt know what a 300zx is...and she's dead.

The problem is that very few Imports, which make up the vast majority of the Z's in this country, are rarely listed correctly on the V5 documents. I've seen countless documents with "Nissan Coupe", "Nissan 300SX", "Nissan Sports" and even just "Nissan" listed as the model - and this is the data which that site relies upon.

Neither of the 2 V5 docs I have here use the word 300zx anywhere on the document for my Slictop and Previous TT.

As Gio says, the only way to get accurate data is to do it by model(chassis) number.
