lol lower plenum is easier than the upper one, you won't get the bolt to stay in there without a thread, so it's either buy a tap and die set and hope you get it right without taking the plenum off (Unlikely) or, take the plenum off, lol

OK, i had the same problem on the back two bolts.

I checked the depth of the hole and found it to be another 10mm longer that the bolts used.

i went to a local nut and bolt supplier and got a couple of (8M) high tensile bolts that were long enough.

put them in and made sure I didn't over-tighten them like the last idiot. LOL...(no, not me)

bloody aluminium, you really got to stick to the recommended torque settings.

Oh, and i have tapped the top of the plenum for the balance bar... what a fยฃ$%^ng nightmare.... wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Yeah I was either gunna tap those same holes for my balance bar or replace the plenum. I bought a second hand plenum in great condition off Baz for about ยฃ50. Going to replace both my upper and lower plenums once I've got it MOT'd and back on the road, should only take me a day.
