well going to start on my feet template to mount the 99spec, was just wondering if there is any one with a proper 99spec that can get some measurements for me of where the spoiler goes on properly, dont want to end up putting it on and its not central or wonkey.

I dont believe we have any genuine 99spec spoilered cars in the club.

Sudesh, Gio and Craig_David have 99specs, but they dont have the spoiler.

noooo dont fit it !!!! ur car is perfect as is

Its even better with the spoiler on, and will be EVEN more better once the abflug is on.

Im keeping the spoiler black as well, if at a later date i change my mind, i can get it resprayed blue. but im happy with the resulting look of black spoiler on blue car.

yea a seen the pics with it on, looks good! but im just a fan of the clean smooth look, i think ull want it off again shortly

I won't, I'm not a fan of no spoiler on the rear of the LWB, but only two spoilers I like, the 89 spec and the 99spec, and the 99spec has only really started appealing to me since I changed someones aux belt and they turned up with a decent fit with there 99spec lol

don't get me wrong, i understand what people are saying, the car does look fantastic with out a spoiler (though im not a fan of it), but you really need to see the spoiler on the car in black in person to understand how good it actually does look.

it seems to make the car look shorter and stockier if that makes sense.

Mine is!

Well the one on my NA is a genuine 99 spec, and it just happens to be the one

that car.mad used to make the copies that we all have now.:cool3:

I think that black one vods has was the first clone!:1eye:

i totally agree with you ian. its not until you live with a smoothed off lwb you realise how wrong it looks the rear looks so unbalanced unsporty and unfinished. looks fine on the squat shorty but it just looks wrong on a lwb. which is why i reverted to an 89 spec and it looks a million times better.

Agreed 100%

there is so much boot from window end to perspex strip, it looks like i may as well have a boot lid, rather than a boot hatch. with the 99spec on there, it fills the desert in.

z32bolt, good choice on spoiler, i think nissan got it right the first time with the 89spec, shame they couldn't of made it out of something less spongebob.

the rear end looks fantastic once you get the rear stance right with a 89spec spoiler, they then came out with a fantastic 99spec design, thats not too intrusive into the rear window for reversing.

I have to admit that the R34 spoiler goes well on the rear end too.

have you tried looking through funkies old posts if they are still about. he fitted the 99 spec and im sure it would have been in the correct place

problem is, i need the messurements from the edge of the boot lip to where its mounted so i can get it perfect if you know what i mean.

Didn't somebody do a FAQ about fitting the 99 spec mate? I'm sure I've seen one on the site. I'd find it for you but I'm crap at searching :(

Did you buy it yourself or have receipt for it ? Sorry to sound like Im doubting, its just Im very suprised.....the last price being branded about for it was 1200 new, whereas the replica's have always been about 200.

Before Car.mad and Zcentre made their copies, we were getting them from Ionic Dynamics in the U.S, which is where all the U.S specialists get theirs from too. Nobody even lists the Genuine item.

Totally agree with you guys... the LWB just does not look finished properly with no spoiler on.

P.s Yowser them alloys look fantastic i must say....

Nice write up :) I would just add that when I done mine the bolts nearest the rear screen shown in the pictures in that write up pass through a double skin - when I installed mine I cut 2 access holes so the fixing bolts secure directly onto the outer skin otherwise over time the 2 skins may compress & the bolts loosen.

Shameless excuse for a 99 spec rear end shot :D
